Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars - Fantasy Football Outlook

LSU WR Brian Thomas Jr. landed in a potentially great spot with the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 23 in the 2024 NFL Draft. The team doesn't have a clear-cut alpha WR1 in their offense, and QB Trevor Lawrence still has plenty of untapped superstar potential.

The problem out of the gate? The Jaguars offense is currently very crowded for targets with RB Travis Etienne, WR Christian Kirk, WR Gabe Davis, and TE Evan Engram. Thomas blew the doors off of college football last fall, playing opposite of star WR Malik Nabers. Thomas finished with 60 receptions for 1,079 yards and 15 TDs.

He is an athletic freak who showed up at the NFL Combine and has the potential to dominate opposing DBs. However, Thomas is still developing as a route runner and mostly won in college on go-routes. He is a solid long-term dynasty asset, but expectations should be tempered in Year 1.

- Kyle Lindemann, RotoBaller

De'Von Achane, Miami Dolphins - Fantasy Football Outlook

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane arrived in a big way in Miami last season, finishing the year as the RB4 in half PPR fantasy points per game. He rushed for 800 yards on 103 attempts and eight touchdowns while catching 27 passes for 197 yards and three scores over 11 games. The main reason is offensive-minded head coach Mike McDaniel.

Although Achane was limited to fewer than 12 touches per game, the efficiency of the McDaniel offense makes up for it and more. It was an effort to keep Achane healthy, who had missed six games due to a knee injury. He will most likely split touches with Raheem Mostert, with fourth-round rookie Jaylen Wright sprinkled in.

The Dolphins' offense ranked first in yards before contact, first in expected running back fantasy points, and second in offensive scoring. This rocketed Achane to No. 1 in nearly every efficiency metric you can find as a 21-year-old rookie.

With more volume expected in year two, it takes a lot of work to pass up on the superstar potential Achane provides at an ADP of 17 (RB8), much higher than his RotoBaller ranking of 46 (RB13). The injury concern is high, especially at a mere 188 pounds, but the upside is undeniable. At a RotoBaller ranking of RB13, no other running back comes close to the overall RB1 ceiling compared to draft value.

- Joel Smyth, RotoBaller

Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals - Fantasy Football Outlook

Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown had a relatively quiet rookie season in 2023. He missed time with a hamstring injury and only received five touches during the team's first 11 games. Starting Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Brown began to gain some steam. The Bengals coaching staff must have seen something they liked as Brown averaged nearly nine touches and 53 scrimmage yards per game from Weeks 13-18.

That would equate to roughly 150 touches and 900 scrimmage yards over a 17-game season. That would be enough to warrant flex consideration in fantasy leagues. His final stats underwhelmed, but Brown displayed big-play ability during the year. Head Coach Zac Taylor has hinted at Brown receiving a larger role this season.

While Zack Moss was brought in as the lead back, he has never handled more than 210 touches in a season nor has he ever been a significant pass-catching threat. There is room for Brown to carve out a role in this offense. He has stand-alone value as a flex option in PPR leagues with upside for more. Ranked as RotoBaller's RB33, Brown is a great target later in drafts and is a worthwhile investment in all leagues.

- David Ventresca, RotoBaller

Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers - Fantasy Football Outlook

The new-look Los Angeles Chargers used the 34th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft to select Ladd McConkey as they reset their wide receiver corps. McConkey's college career began on Georgia's scout team but he would soon emerge as a reliable option who averaged 14.2 yards per catch with 18 total TDs in 39 games. The 75.3% catch rate helped make the most of his opportunities on a run-happy Georgia team.

He also returned 21 punts there, averaging 13.3 yards per return. We know Justin Herbert has a massive arm, but he's now without Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Austin Ekeler, and Gerald Everett. That's over 225 vacated targets. Their 2023 first-rounder, Quentin Johnston, supplied little reason for optimism going into 2024, and Joshua Palmer is not a No. 1 receiver, which means the door is open for McConkey to be Herbert's primary target.

Jim Harbaugh's return to the NFL may bring a balanced rushing attack, but McConkey is sure to be involved as a PPR magnet thanks to being a crisp route-runner with plus hands. He may struggle to secure enough yards or TDs to separate from the pack in non-PPR formats, but a WR3 in PPR is viable.

- Nick Mariano, RotoBaller
