David Montgomery - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Top FanDuel daily fantasy football lineup picks for Week 1 DFS in 2024. Dennis' NFL DFS sleeper picks for building winning NFL DFS lineups on FanDuel in Week 1.

After an exciting opening night matchup between the Chiefs and Ravens, the Packers and Eagles will meet in Brazil on Friday to keep things rolling. However, business will pick up on Sunday, with a loaded schedule on tap for Week 1.

In this article, I will be providing you with my Week 1 daily fantasy football lineup picks for FanDuel and the 2024 NFL season. These lineups can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel.

Week 1 FanDuel Quarterbacks - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Joe Burrow – vs. NE ($8,400)

Burrow had a rough 2023-24 campaign. He began the year battling with a calf injury, severely limiting his mobility.

That wasn’t the only issue, with the 2020 No.1 overall pick suffering a wrist injury in mid-November, resulting in season-ending surgery.

Burrow stated that he feels good. He spent the offseason working on his body, hoping to stay healthy enough to lead the Bengals back to the Super Bowl.

While the status of Ja’Marr Chase for Week 1 remains a mystery, and Tee Higgins popped up on the Friday injury report, Burrow should make do with who he’ll have available.

With that said, it may not be a leisurely afternoon for the Bengals against a sound Pats defense. But New England could experience some growing pains as the team shifts gears to the Jerod Mayo era. If that happens, a talented quarterback like Burrow will have his way.

Tua Tagovailoa – vs. JAC ($7,700)

The Dolphins were one of the NFL’s most potent offenses last season. With the same group intact, Miami should continue finding the end zone easily in 2023-24.

For that to happen, Tagovailoa must pick up where he left off. He finished last year by posting career-highs in passing yards (4,624) and touchdowns (29). Although the 26-year-old did throw 14 picks, he stayed healthy, so fantasy managers were willing to accept it.

At any rate, the Jags' defense isn’t the worst unit in the National Football League. However, they aren’t the best either.

With Tagovailoa historically playing better at home throughout his career, he’s certainly someone DFS managers need to consider strongly, especially with such a discounted rostering cost. It also doesn’t hurt that Vegas has the Fins listed as one of the highest-scoring teams on Sunday’s slate.

Also Consider: C.J. Stroud ($8,500), Baker Mayfield ($7,200)

Week 1 FanDuel Running Backs - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Joe Mixon ($7,300) – @ IND ($7,300)

Mixon spent his entire career with the Bengals. He appeared in 97 regular-season games for the club, running for 6,412 yards and 49 touchdowns, adding 347 catches for 2,139 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Without a doubt, his resume speaks for itself. But many are wondering how much gas he has left in the tank as he enters his eighth year in the National Football League.

With that in mind, Mixon will begin his tenure in Houston with a favorable matchup against a Colts defense that could struggle, giving the former Oklahoma Sooner plenty of upside in Week 1.

David Montgomery – vs. LAR ($7,000)

Fantasy managers expect Jahmyr Gibbs to be even more productive than last season. However, there’s no reason for anyone to ignore Montgomery, especially since he is coming off a 13-touchdown year. He was also instrumental for the Lions inside the red zone.

While Montgomery’s ceiling would have been higher if Gibbs had been sidelined because of a nagging hamstring issue, Detroit should get up and down the field enough for both men to stay heavily involved in the Week 1 meeting with the Rams.

Also Consider: Bijan Robinson ($8,800), Rachaad White ($7,700), James Cook ($7,600), Chuba Hubbard ($5,600)

Week 1 FanDuel Wide Receivers - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Tyreek Hill – vs. JAC ($9,600)

Without question, there’s a reason why Hill is the costliest wideout available. Despite coming off his eighth NFL season, the 30-year-old is better than ever.

He had a career-high 1,799 receiving yards last season. Hill also found the end zone 13 times, the second-best mark of his career, and averaged an impressive 15.1 yards per catch.

The Jags secondary is a liability, so DFS managers could see Tua Tagovailoa and Hill connecting several times throughout the contest.

Stefon Diggs – @ IND ($6,800)

Diggs finished last season with the Bills by pulling in 107 of his 160 targets for 1,183 yards and eight touchdowns. Most of the receivers in the NFL would be happy with that kind of production.

However, the 30-year-old felt underutilized, resulting in Buffalo trading him to Houston. Many assume Diggs will take a step back this season, considering the depth of the Texans offense.

But those who have listened to him over the last few weeks know he is fired up and looking to re-establish himself as one of the top wideouts in the league.

There are a lot of questions regarding the potential of the Colts' secondary, so the unit could be in trouble versus a high-powered passing attack.

Chris Godwin – vs. WAS ($5,600)

The Buccaneers have more than a few capable pass-catchers. Still, outside of Mike Evans, the rest of the receiving corps weren’t as productive last season.

To be fair, Godwin still went over the 1,000-yard mark. Yet, he found the end zone only two times, the second-lowest mark of his career.

Tampa brought in Liam Coen to serve as the team’s offensive coordinator. He’s been hyping up Godwin nearly the entire offseason, with many expecting big things from the wide receiver.

There’s a reason to believe the 2017 No. 84 overall pick could have a stellar 2024-25 campaign under Coen, and with a rostering cost of only $5,600, fantasy managers can feel comfortable getting him in their lineups.

Also Consider: Amon-Ra St. Brown ($8,900), Cooper Kupp ($7,00), Drake London ($6, 700), Michael Pittman Jr. ($6,500), Joshua Palmer ($5,000)

Week 1 FanDuel Tight Ends - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Dalton Kincaid – vs. ARI ($6,800)

Without question, the loss of Stefon Diggs could be challenging for Josh Allen. Buffalo also lost Gabe Davis this offseason, with the wideout now a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Although the Bills added Curtis Samuel, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and rookie Keon Coleman, it will still be tough to replace Diggs and Davis.

Fortunately for Allen, Kincaid, who had the second-most catches for the team last season, is still on the roster.

It’s certainly possible he could finish as the team’s top receiving option by the end of the year, so he’ll likely be a popular DFS option from week to week, assuming he remains healthy.

Evan Engram – @ MIA ($6,200)

Engram had a career-high 114 catches for 963 receiving yards in 2023-24. As a result, he was named one of the Jaguars’ captains for 2024-25. It’s clear he plays a pivotal role for the club.

With Calvin Ridley no longer on the roster, Engram should benefit significantly, potentially finishing the year as Trevor Lawrence’s top target.

With that in mind, there’s a good chance Miami builds a decisive lead during this contest, meaning Lawrence could be throwing often until the end of the contest.

Also Consider: Sam LaPorta ($8,000)
