Impact Fantasy Baseball Prospects Ready To Shine - Owen Caissie, Jordan Beck, Connor Norby

Connor Norby - Fantasy Baseball Prospects, Draft Sleepers, MLB Rookies

Brian analyzes three top fantasy baseball prospects - Owen Caissie, Jordan Beck, and Connor Norby - who could make big impacts this season. These MLB prospects are potential waiver wire pick-ups or stashes.

As the fantasy baseball season enters late August, it's all hands on deck as fantasy managers try to reach the playoffs in head-to-head leagues and finish strong in roto leagues.

One way to go all-in is by going with a youth movement, whether that's adding recent call-ups or finding a bench spot for prospects in anticipation of a late-season call-up.

Here is a look at three prospects, two of whom were recently called up, that can make an impact on your fantasy team down the stretch run.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Owen Caissie - OF, Chicago Cubs

Current level: Triple-A Iowa
Availability: 10% rostered
2024 minor league stats: 100 G, .269/.365/.446, 13 HRs, 56 RBI, 48 R, 7 SB

Caissie, the Cubs No. 3 prospect, is having a productive season at Triple-A Iowa, showcasing his prodigious power. There are some worries about his strikeout rate and thus his batting average potential, but the Canadian offers rare pop in his bat.

The 22-year-old is part of a loaded group that has advanced to Iowa along with top Cubs prospect Matt Shaw, No. 4 prospect Moises Ballesteros, and No. 5 prospect James Triantos.

How the Cubs will handle their group of top prospects at Iowa remains to be seen. Will they wait until next year and give them all a shot at the majors at once, or will they look to some of them at the end of this year? If Caissie does get a look his power potential makes him interesting in fantasy.

Jordan Beck - OF, Colorado Rockies

Current level: Colorado Rockies
Availability: 7% rostered
2024 minor league stats: 42 G, .316/.395/.540, 8 HRs, 35 RBI, 38 R, 6 SB
2024 MLB stats: 28 G, .221/.250/.326, 2 HRs, 10 RBI, 6 R, 2 SB

Beck was recently given another opportunity in Colorado with the big league club and has been given some consistent at-bats recently. The talented, young outfielder has yet to make a big splash in the majors, but that could be coming.

He showed a good all-around offensive game in the minor leagues this season and the Rockies' No. 3 prospect offers 20-20 potential.

Hitting at Coors Field for the rest of the season, Beck is worth a look as a waiver-wire addition in deep leagues. He might need to show a bit more to be in the shallow league conversation but the potential is there.

Connor Norby - 2B, Miami Marlins

Current level: Miami Marlins
Availability: 12% rostered
2024 minor league stats: 94 G, .293/.382/.496, 17 HRs, 60 RBI, 78 R, 13 SB
2024 MLB stats: 9 G, .188/.188/.406, 2 HRs, 3 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB

Norby is reportedly being called up to Miami on Monday after hitting well at Triple-A Jacksonville since coming over from the Baltimore organization in a trade deadline deal.

The No. 3 prospect for the Marlins, Norby got a brief trial run with the Orioles, so he has his major league debut out of the way and should be ready to hit the ground running with the Marlins.

The 24-year-old is a polished hitter with the potential to contribute in all five fantasy categories at the second base position. If Norby was not already stashed in your league, he is a great waiver-wire addition for the stretch run. He could contribute immediately in a return to the big leagues with his new organization.
