ANALYSIS: Noelvi Marte's 2023 debut was a resounding success, hitting .316 while displaying power (seven 2B, three HR), speed (six SB), and solid bat-to-ball skills (20.3% K% vs 22.7% league avg.) over 35 games (114 AB). His 80-game PED suspension to begin the year threw cold water on all the excitement that came along with being a top prospect who was a multi-category fantasy producer in a potent young lineup, however, he's eligible to return at the end of June and we need to begin thinking about his potential again.

Who knows if he'll be the same player again, but it's probably a good bet that he'll be at least close. Fernando Tatis Jr. is still a multi-category producer post-PED suspension. Marte is currently training at the Reds' facility in the Dominican Republic, but it's safe to assume he'll need a couple weeks or so in the minors to prove he's ready for the big leagues again. The 22-year-old is eligible to come back June 27, so if his rehab assignment goes well, his return could come as early as then.
For fantasy managers who have a spot to spare, Marte is a good stash that will pay off in the second half of the season when managers need it most. He was being selected around pick 163 in preseason fantasy drafts near the likes of Ian Happ and Jarren Duran prior to the suspension, and you can grab him for free right now. Marte is available in almost 90% of Yahoo leagues for the taking.
