There are a lot of day games on the schedule on Wednesday, which leaves just seven games for the main evening slates on DraftKings and FanDuel. In terms of starting pitching options, the evening leaves a lot to be desired.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/15/2024, with the slate starting at 7:10 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Pablo Lopez vs. NYY ($9,800 DraftKings; $10,500 FanDuel)

Facing the Yankees is not ideal. The additions of Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo have provided them with a significant boost. Aaron Judge also looks to have busted out of his early-season slump. In total, they have scored the eighth-most runs in baseball. Still, Lopez can quiet even the most boisterous of lineups. After producing a 3.66 ERA and 3.33 FIP last year, he has a 3.89 ERA and 3.03 FIP this season. He also brings plenty of strikeout upside to the table, following up his 29.2 percent strikeout rate last season with a 31.6 percent mark this year.

Framber Valdez vs. OAK ($8,800 DraftKings; $9,200 FanDuel)

After a rough outing versus the Mariners, Valdez bounced back to limit the Tigers to two runs over seven innings in his last start. His strength has been keeping hitters off base, posting a WHIP of 1.16 or lower in three of the last four seasons. He has also allowed just 0.7 HR/9 for his career. The Athletics had some scoring outbursts recently, but they have plenty of holes in their lineup and are tied for the second-most strikeouts in baseball. This is still a favorable matchup for Valdez.

Taj Bradley at BOS ($8,000 DraftKings; $10,300 FanDuel)

Bradley began the season on the injured list with a pectoral strain. He finally made his debut last week, allowing one run and recording seven strikeouts over six innings against the Yankees. His 5.59 ERA last season is troublesome, but his FIP was a bit better at 4.79. He also missed plenty of bats, recording a 28.0 percent strikeout rate. That stat makes him appealing against the Red Sox, who are tied for the second-most strikeouts in baseball.

Also consider: Tanner Houck vs. TB

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Marcus Semien – 2B, TEX vs. Carlos Carrasco ($5,500 DK; $3,900 FD)

Semien has caught fire, hitting 22-for-69 (.319) with two home runs and four doubles over his last 15 games. He continues to show a great eye at the plate, posting just a 13.9 percent strikeout rate this season. His ability to make contact should make him a tough out for Carrasco, who has followed up his 1.70 WHIP last season with a 1.49 WHIP this year.

Nathaniel Lowe – 1B, TEX vs. Carlos Carrasco ($4,300 DK; $3,100 FD)

Considering how poorly Carrasco has pitched, Semien isn’t the only member of the Rangers to consider. After beginning the season on the IL, Lowe has a .866 OPS since making his season debut. He has shown a selective eye at the plate, recording almost as many walks (17) as he has strikeouts (20).

Alex Bregman – 3B, HOU vs. Aaron Brooks ($4,200 DK; $2,500 FD)

Bregman has been destroying the Athletics, hitting three home runs over the first two games of this series. After a slow start to the season, he is on a six-game hitting streak that has seen him hit 10-for-24 with three home runs and three doubles. His power surge is noteworthy for a matchup against Brooks, who has given up 1.7 HR/9 for his career.

Also consider: Corey Seager, Jose Altuve, Paul Goldschmidt

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Kyle Tucker – OF, HOU vs. Aaron Brooks ($6,000 DK; $4,300 FD)

Tucker has also had a productive series against the Athletics, hitting 3-for-7 with two doubles and a walk. He has already hit 13 home runs this season, putting him on pace to surpass his previous career high of 30 home runs in a season. He has a 1.111 OPS at home this year, so expect him to be a difficult out for Brooks.

Max Kepler - OF, MIN vs. Marcus Stroman ($4,500 DK; $3,300 FD)

Stroman has shown command issues on his way to recording a 1.50 WHIP this year. Left-handed hitters have produced a .437 wOBA against him while also hitting five home runs. Enter Kepler, who is 26-for-64 (.406) with three home runs and nine doubles over 20 games since being activated from the injured list.

Leody Taveras – OF, TEX vs. Carlos Carrasco ($3,300 DK; $2,700 FD)

Taveras struggled out of the gate, but he is 19-for-58 (.328) with three home runs and three doubles across his last 17 games. While left-handed pitchers limited him to a .638 OPS last year, he had a .768 OPS against righties. For those looking for a member of the Rangers with a cheap salary who could exploit this matchup with Carrasco, Taveras could be your man.

Also consider: Yordan Alvarez, Marcell Ozuna, Michael Harris II
