New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones had a rough 2023 season. He got off to a slow start, throwing for 909 yards, two touchdowns, and six interceptions while fumbling once in six games.
His season came to an early end after he tore his right ACL on November 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Daniel Jones Injury Updates for Fantasy Football
UPDATE 11/5: Jones tore his right ACL against the Raiders.

UPDATE 11/23: Jones had his right ACL surgically repaired.

Jones had surgery on Thanksgiving of 2023, opting to get his ACL repaired sooner rather than later so he could focus on rehabbing. The New York Daily News caught up with Jones during Super Bowl week and he sounded optimistic.
Jones mentioned that his rehab is "going well" and that he has been able to begin running on an anti-gravity treadmill.

The starting quarterback's ACL tear was classified as relatively clean, meaning that there wasn't any additional damage done to the surrounding ligaments in his knee. That comes as good news as Jones should be able to avoid additional complications in his rehab.
Will Daniel Jones Be Ready For The Start Of The 2024 Season?
The typical recovery for a torn ACL is usually around nine months, although we have seen several athletes beat that time frame, especially in the past few years. Even if Jones needs the full nine months for his recovery, nine months from surgery would put him back on the field by the end of August.
Undrafted quarterback Tommy Devito had some nice moments filling in for Jones last season, but he is ultimately better suited to be a backup and shouldn't be viewed as a serious threat to Jones' starting role. Although Jones may not have his typical rushing upside right off the bat upon his return, it is within the realm of possibility that he will be the Giants' starting quarterback in Week 1.
Of course, the Giants own the No. 6 pick in the upcoming draft, so there is a chance that they select a rookie quarterback, depending on how the draft board falls. A first-round rookie quarterback getting added to the roster would likely push Jones to the backup role next season unless the Giants can find someone willing to acquire him via trade.
