The organization will now advance to the NFC Championship, where they will match up against the Detroit Lions. The Lions are coming off a 31-23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Last Super Bowl Win For The San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers will face off against the Lions in the NFC Championship this weekend, but if the 49ers advance this would be the eighth Super Bowl appearance in franchise history! The last time the team won a Super Bowl however would be dated back to the 1994-1995 season where they faced off against the San Diego Chargers. During that season, the 49ers finished 13-3 and were first in the NFC West. The quarterback who led San Francisco, Steve Young, finished the season throwing for 3,969 and 35 touchdowns through 16 games played.
Ultimately, the 49ers would win Super Bowl XXIX against an excellent Chargers team 49-26. Hall of Famer Jerry Rice had a monumental performance, gathering 10 catches for 149 yards and three touchdowns during the win.
How Will The 49ers Do In The NFC Championship Game?
On Sunday, the 49ers will face against the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game. San Francisco will continue their home-field advantage as the game will be played at Levi's Stadium. The 49ers opened up as seven-point favorites in the game, but the Lions have continued to prove people wrong all season and will be a tough team to take down.
The Lions have struggled all season with defending the pass as the team currently sits 2nd in the NFL in passing yards allowed and has let up an average of 256.9 passing yards per game this season. This will mean quarterback Brock Purdy will have to look for tight end George Kittle and wideout Brandon Aiyuk to find success in the passing game.
