James Cook's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 15 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit James Cook for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB2
ANALYSIS: Buffalo Bills running back James Cook has been unleashed with the changing of offensive coordinators, as he has seen 15 or more touches in all three games since the change, with two games of 20 or more touches. The 24-year-old has totaled at least 100 yards in all three games, including Week 14 against the Chiefs, where he finished with 141 total yards and a touchdown. After scoring just one touchdown in the team's first 10 games, Cook has scored one in two of the three games since the coaching change.
The Bills are running the ball more than usual and making sure to get Cook involved in the passing game, which bodes well for his fantasy value.
The Bills take on the Cowboys in Week 15, who allow the fewest points per game to running backs this year. The Bills sit at 7-6 and can't afford many more losses if they want to make the playoffs, and they could abandon the run quicker than usual if they feel it's not having success. Luckily for Cook, his receiving upside allows him to find a way to produce regardless of the game script. While it doesn't seem like Cook will continue to be ultra-efficient against a tough Cowboys defense, he still ranks as a low-end RB2 as he gets a more consistent role with the new offensive coordinator.
