Tyler Stephenson Getting Another Day Off Friday
Tyler Stephenson is not in the starting lineup on Friday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Luke Maile will do the catching and bat in the nine-hole against Pirates right-hander Johan Oviedo. Since the All-Star break, Stephenson is hitting just .182 (10-for-55) with a home run, one double, two RBI, 14 strikeouts and six runs scored in 19 games (16 starts). It's been a pretty disappointing year in general for the 26-year-old backstop, as he's currently slashing .243/.328/.355 with eight home runs, 39 RBI and 47 runs scored in 358 at-bats. Still, Stephenson is worth rostering in single-catcher leagues given the weak nature of the position in fantasy.
