Which Teams Could Sign Leonard Fournette? Fantasy Football Outlook

leonard fournette fantasy football rankings news NFL DFS lineup picks

Which teams could sign free agent running back Leonard Fournette in the 2023 offseason after his release from the Buccaneers? Read the outlook here.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers living legend Tom Brady has sailed off into the sunset. His retirement signaled the end of his glorious career, and perhaps the beginning of a rebuild in Tampa.

The team's veteran running back, Leonard Fournette, asked if they could grant him a release after the season, and they did. This allows the back to explore free agency during the 2023 offseason.

So what happens now for Fournette? Which teams are showing interest and which teams interest him? Let's take a look at all the rumors and reports to find a possible answer.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Which Teams Could Sign Leonard Fournette?

Every year, there is turnover for each team and at many positions. There is no question that the man known as "Playoff Lenny" will land on his feet; the only question is where. If his own Twitter account is any indication, there are plenty of options on the table.

Fournette posted a picture last week of a hat with pins on it, all from different teams in the NFL. Shown in the photo were the Steelers, 49ers, Bears, Colts, Cowboys, Dolphins, Chiefs, Saints, Seahawks, Lions, Ravens, Eagles, Broncos, and Jaguars. Does that mean one of those teams is where the 28-year-old would like to play?

Only time will tell us where the former LSU Tiger will land. However, one thing we know is that he will be helping someone in 2023, and it most likely will be a contender. This past season, Lenny rushed for 668 yards and three touchdowns while adding an impressive 73 receptions for 523 yards and three scores. He is a versatile ball carrier who can help pound the rock when needed, but he can also contribute out of the backfield in the passing game.

Is There A Market For Leonard Fournette This Offseason?

Unfortunately for Fournette, there are many free agent RBs still out there left for teams to sign. Fortunately for him, he is one of the top-tier options available and should have his choice of destination.

There are a couple of teams that make the most sense for a player of Fournette's caliber. The Bills could use an experienced and playoff-proven RB to slide into an otherwise powerhouse offense. The Chargers, if Austin Ekeler has his trade requests granted, would have an opening, and would be another ideal spot for Fournette to call home. With the release of Miles Sanders, the Eagles, who are coming off a Super Bowl appearance, would be a perfect fit for the veteran as potentially the missing piece to their championship aspirations.

For many teams in the NFL, Fournette would be considered a luxury item, particularly to those franchises that have multiple weapons already in the fold. What makes him so attractive to potential suitors is his multi-dimensional skill set that would help any offense immediately. Fantasy owners, however, won't have a solid understanding of his impact for 2023 until Fournette himself has made a decision regarding his future.
