Tyler Locklear is a fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup for Week 13 (2024). Target Tyler Locklear as a top prospect free-agent add for fantasy baseball.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 4% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: When the Mariners placed Ty France on the 10-Day IL, first baseman Tyler Locklear was summoned from Triple-A Tacoma for his MLB debut. Locklear was selected in the second round of the 2022 Draft, so he's moved up the ladder quickly. The 23-year-old's calling card is his power, hitting seven home runs in just 31 games in 2022, and another 13 in 85 games in 2023. Prior to his call-up this season, the right-handed hitter had sent nine balls over the wall in 51 games. He can hit for average as well, with a career .289 BA in 630 minor league at-bats.

MLB pitching hasn't been as kind, of course, as so far he's just 4-for-16 (.250) with a 35.3% K% and zero walks. A patient eye was another trait he exhibited well in the minors, with a career 12.3% BB%, so it's surprising to see that he hasn't yet coaxed one. Regardless, the former VCU product hit his first home run of the season on Thursday, so this could be the start of an offensive outburst (although it was by no means a no-doubter). For managers looking to get in on the ground floor, Locklear is available in nearly all Yahoo leagues right now and is eligible at both 1B and 3B, adding some appeal to his rosterability.

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team leagues CALL-UP ETA: July ANALYSIS: Unlike many players currently in the minor leagues, Chandler Simpson has proven he can be a valuable fantasy player at the MLB level. In his time in the majors, he hit .285 with 19 stolen bases in 35 games. Unfortunately, being a valuable fantasy player […]

Brady House - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: The Nationals went viral on social media this week for making a fun call-up. They called up their bat dog from Triple-A. While this was very cute and should improve the vibes a little bit in Washington, I don't think Bruce the Bat Dog will help […]

Samuel Basallo - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: Samuel Basallo might be the best hitter in the minors right now, and he has catcher eligibility. What more do you need to know (I know catcher is super deep this year, but still)? Basallo has been an age-to-level monster for the majority of his pro […]

Andrew Painter - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-team leagues CALL-UP ETA: June ANALYSIS: Painter's last two starts don't give a ton of confidence that he is ready to be in the majors. It may not even be before the All-Star break before we see him, but that does not mean we are in stash territory. The good news is, […]

Colby Thomas - Fantasy Baseball Prospects Waiver Wire Stashes (Week 12)
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team leagues CALL-UP ETA: July ANALYSIS: The A's continue to lose, and Colby Thomas continues to hit homers in Triple-A. The A's just got swept by the Angels, bringing their record to 26-44. While plays like Denzel Clarke's HR robbery can generate a spark for a team, the A's might need […]
