Should I Draft TreVeyon Henderson or Rhamondre Stevenson for Fantasy Football? Who Is The New England Patriots RB1 for 2025?

Rhamondre Stevenson - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Should I draft TreVeyon Henderson or Rhamondre Stevenson for fantasy football drafts? Who will be the RB1 for the Patriots in 2025? Mike Fanelli tells you which running back to draft.

The New England Patriots had one of the best drafts of any team this year. They left the 2025 NFL Draft with several new pieces on offense, including Ohio State’s running back TreVeyon Henderson.

Many were surprised when the Patriots drafted Henderson, especially after investing significant money in Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson the past few offseasons. Yet, New England spent their second-round pick on the explosive running back, giving Drake Maye a dynamic weapon out of the backfield.

Unfortunately, fantasy players now have to figure out the Patriots’ backfield. Should fantasy players draft Henderson or Stevenson in 2025? Let’s dive into it.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Draft TreVeyon Henderson?

Henderson had an outstanding final year at Ohio State, totaling 144 rushing attempts for 1,016 yards and 10 touchdowns, leading the Big 10 in yards per attempt (7.1). Furthermore, he is a weapon in the passing game, totaling over 225 receiving yards in each of his three healthy seasons in college. The rookie is worthy of a fifth or sixth-round pick in redraft leagues later this summer.

Should I Draft Rhamondre Stevenson?

Stevenson had an underrated 2024 season, totaling 207 rushing attempts for 801 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns behind an awful offensive line. Furthermore, he set a career high in offensive scores (eight) but a career low in yards per touch (4.0). While the veteran won’t be the clear-cut starter in 2025, Stevenson is still a solid seventh-round pick in redraft leagues this year.

Who is the New England Patriots RB1 in 2025?

Fantasy players hate the crowded backfield in New England. While Gibson is the least fantasy-relevant running back of the trio, he will still have a role. Therefore, this backfield isn’t a two-man combination but a full-blown running back by committee situation.

However, Henderson will be the Patriots' RB1 in 2025 with Stevenson mixing in as a RB1B for the backfield. Meanwhile, Gibson should see a handful of touches a game, unless the veteran gets traded or cut in training camp.

Henderson and Stevenson are solid flex options for fantasy players in redraft leagues. However, I would draft the rookie before the veteran. Henderson offers more upside in the passing game and as a big-play rusher than Stevenson.
