8 months agoThe New York Yankees are expected to pursue Arizona Diamondbacks impending free-agent starting pitcher Patrick Corbin this winter, according to sources. Yankees impending free-agent starters J.A. Happ and CC Sabathia will be under consideration, too. Corbin was one of the league's best left-handed starters in 2018 and finished third in the National League with 246 strikeouts. He has improved in recent seasons while using his devastating slider more often, and he's appealing at only 29 years old. Corbin grew up in upstate New York and was a Yankees fan in his youth. Arizona will extend him a $17.9 million qualifying offer, but it's highly unlikely he'll accept that. Corbin will be one of the most attractive free-agent pitchers on the market. A move to the American League and tough AL East division would be a slight hit to his overall fantasy value.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
