Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette underperformed as a rookie in 2024, posting a modest 49 catches for 497 yards. His role this season was in question until news that fellow wide receiver Jalen Coker (quadriceps) has been placed on injured reserve. Legette has been elevated to the WR2 role behind star rookie Tetairoa McMillan with Coker sidelined. This promotion comes with a highly favorable Week 1 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who had the NFL's worst pass defense in 2024 and gave up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. While this presents an ideal scenario, uncertainty remains regarding Legette's chemistry with Bryce Young. The offseason signing of veteran slot receiver Hunter Renfrow also complicates his usage. Due to these lingering questions about role and on-field connection, Legette is mainly a FLEX option in deep leagues and comes in as WR54 in the latest RotoBaller rankings for Week 1.--Jp Sticco
