X-Rays Negative On Mike Williams
2 years agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams (back) suffered a back injury in the Week 18 loss to the Denver Broncos and was seen limping out of the locker room after the game, barely able to put any weight on his left side. X-rays at the stadium came back negative, but his lower-back injury will be further evaluated on Monday. Head coach Brandon Staley made the questionable decision to play his starters on Sunday in a meaningless game -- the Chargers had already locked up the No. 5 seed in the AFC playoffs. Although his X-rays were negative, it doesn't mean that Williams will be ready to play in the wild-card round this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars, which would be a big loss for the offense. If Big Mike is unavailable, Joshua Palmer and DeAndre Carter will have bigger roles alongside target hog Keenan Allen.
