Taylor Ward, Anthony Rendon Improving
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Taylor Ward (hamstring, neck) is healing nicely, while third baseman Anthony Rendon (wrist) has been hitting in the batting cages and taking ground balls. Ward's neck/shoulder still isn't 100%, but he feels no pain and can play through it. The 28-year-old is targeting a return from the injured list when he's first eligible next Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Angels could really use Ward back, especially with All-Star outfielder Mike Trout (groin) missing some games this week. Ward has been an everyday fantasy starter in 2021, hitting .333/.443/.644 with a 1.087 OPS, 10 home runs and 26 RBI. Rendon went on the IL on May 27 with right wrist inflammation, and there remains no timetable for his return.
