Edward Florentino Activated from Injured List at Single-A
Pittsburgh Pirates outfield prospect Edward Florentino (hamstring) was activated off the Single-A Bradenton seven-day injured list on Saturday. The Pirates' fifth-ranked prospect had been on the shelf since leaving a game on August 21 with a left hamstring strain. The 6-foot-4 Dominican earned himself a promotion after slashing .347/.442/.642 in the Complex League, and has shown well for the Marauders. The 18-year-old is hitting .270 with a .388 OBP thanks to a strong 13.8 percent walk rate, blasting 10 home runs and stealing 29 bases along the way in just 51 games at that level. Florentino is a prospect for dynasty managers to keep an eye on, with an all-around skillset that could make him an intriguing fantasy asset in the coming years.
