Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson listed linebacker T.J. Edwards (hamstring) as doubtful for Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings. Edwards popped up on the injury report Thursday and missed the entire week of practice, putting him on track to miss his first game since 2020. The veteran linebacker has been a stabilizing force in the middle of Chicago's defense and finished 2024 as PFF's fifth-best linebacker in run defense. With Edwards listed as doubtful, fourth-round rookie Ruben Hyppolite is expected to step into the rotation. His inexperience could open the door for the Vikings' backfield.
