Scooter Gennett 2-3 Weeks From Rehab Games
6 years agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Scooter Gennett (groin) took batting practice on Friday and continues to increase the intensity and range as he takes ground balls every day. Manager David Bell said that Gennett is two or three weeks from going on a rehab assignment. Gennett must first raise the intensity of how he takes grounders and will have to run the bases without issues before being cleared for games. When Gennett returns, the team will have to get creative in finding playing time for Derek Dietrich, who leads the club in home runs. Gennett was an All-Star in 2018 when he hit .310/.357/.490 with 23 home runs and 92 RBI. He should be stashed in all leagues right now.
