New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner (calf) was held out of training camp practice on Wednesday with calf soreness, and head coach Aaron Glenn said the team is still evaluating the injury. The Jets are probably just being cautious with one of the best corners in the league, but we'll keep a close eye on the situation moving forward. The 24-year-old star defensive back just signed a four-year, $120.4 million contract extension last month that made him the league's highest-paid cornerback. Losing Gardner for any stretch of time would be a big blow to New York's secondary, but at this time, there's no indication that it's an injury that could keep Gardner out for Week 1 of the regular season. Gardner has been a first-team All-Pro in two of his three NFL seasons, although he does only have three interceptions in three years.--Keith HernandezRead More News
