Saints Could Be Interested In Baker Mayfield
Baker Mayfield this offseason if they lose out on quarterback Derek Carr. The Saints staff was high on Mayfield ahead of the 2018 draft. The Saints had a two-day visit with Carr last week that went well, and the signal-caller has maintained a relationship with head coach Dennis Allen, who was Carr's first NFL coach. Mayfield, meanwhile, will hit the open market after spending last year with the Rams and Carolina Panthers. He played in 12 games (10 starts) and completed 60% of his passes for a career-low 2,163 yards, 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions. The 27-year-old former first overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2018 will clearly be a fallback option for the Saints.
