Milwaukee Brewers right-handed prospect
Jacob Misiorowski struck out a season-best 11 batters during his outing against Triple-A Norfolk on Friday evening. In this outing, Misiorowski allowed just two hits and one free pass. He did not allow a run. Over his last 23 2/3 innings of work (four starts), Misiorowski has posted a near-perfect 0.38 ERA with a 0.72 WHIP. During this stretch, Misiorowski has served up just six walks and struck out 33 batters. During his first 18 2/3 innings of work, Misiorowski held a solid 2.89 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression at Triple-A as the Crowder College product appears to be approaching his MLB debut. Given his improved command and increasing strikeout potential, he is a strong stash option going forward.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder
Jackson Chourio went 3-for-5 in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Rays. All three hits were singles, but it was still a fruitful day for fantasy as he also scored once and stole two bases in the contest. The 21-year-old is off to a fine start this season, now with a .267-6-24-24-5 stat line with a .323 wOBA and 104 wRC+, ranking him as one of the top 40 players in fantasy, however, it could be better. The right-handed hitter is walking at a minuscule 1.8 percent rate, leading to a poor .282 on-base percentage. If he can start to work more counts and get on base more, then more steals and runs should follow; last season the Venezuelan's walk rate was below league average, but was still much higher at 6.8 percent. Nevertheless, he remains one of fantasy's five-category contributors and should remain a top 40 option throughout the year.

Los Angeles Dodgers utility man
Enrique Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored in Friday's 14-11 win over the Diamondbacks. The veteran's batting average may not show it as it sits at .215, but he's been somewhat productive in the lineup, now with six home runs on the year with 15 RBI, and 12 runs scored in 87 plate appearances, leading to a .317 wOBA and 102 wRC+. He is not a preferred option for fantasy without regular at-bats, though, despite being eligible at 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, and OF on Yahoo!. If the 33-year-old found regular ABs, then he would be in consideration for a roster spot, as he's clearly still got some pop in his bat, although a career high 13.8 percent barrel rate is sure to regress, but for now, he is a just a cheap DFS option unless you play in an NL-only league.

Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman
Eugenio Suarez went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI, three total runs, and two walks in Friday's 14-11 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Suarez put the Diamondbacks on top 3-1 with a two-run shot off Dodgers pitcher
Roki Sasaki in the bottom of the first inning. His home run traveled 423 feet with an exit velocity of 108 mph. It was his first home run since his four-homer game back on April 26th. With the bases loaded, Suarez walked to log his third RBI of the game. The 33-year-old is starting to heat up, slashing .320/.430/.520 with a home run, five RBI, and five runs over his 30 plate appearances. Overall, Suarez is slashing .210/.308/.500 with 11 home runs, 26 RBI, 24 runs, and a stolen base over 39 games in 2025. Fantasy managers should continue to start Suarez in all leagues while he's having a strong May.

San Diego Padres first base/outfielder
Gavin Sheets went 2-for-4 with two doubles, four RBI, and a run scored in Friday's 13-9 win over the Colorado Rockies. Sheets crushed a three-run double in the top of the fifth inning to give the Padres a 5-0 lead. In his next at-bat, he smacked an RBI double in the sixth inning for his fourth RBI of the game. The 29-year-old has now racked up multi-hit efforts in three of his last six games, hitting .389 (7-for-18) with a home run and six RBI. Overall, Sheets is slashing .284/.345/.461 with four home runs, 18 RBI, 13 runs, and a stolen base across 113 plate appearances in 2025. With two more games in hitter-friendly Coors Field, Sheets has been productive recently and can be used as a streamer in most leagues.

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 1-for-5 with a grand slam and an RBI groundout in Friday's 14-11 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Gurriel hit an RBI groundout in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut the Dodgers' lead to 8-4. In his next at-bat, the 31-year-old belted a grand slam off Dodgers pitcher
Anthony Banda in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game 8-8. His home run traveled 401 feet with an exit velocity of 105.9 mph. He has now collected a hit in six of his last nine games and is hitting .306 (11-for-36) with three home runs and 10 RBI in May. Overall, Gurriel is slashing .213/.238/.418 with seven home runs, 25 RBI, 14 runs, and a stolen base across 151 plate appearances. Fantasy managers should continue to roll with Gurriel while he's swinging a hot bat as he looks to build on Friday's performance in this weekend's series against Los Angeles.

Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher
Kevin Ginkel had an atrocious outing on Friday, allowing five runs (all earned), blowing the save, and taking the loss in a 14-11 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ginkel was summoned with a three-run lead in the ninth, and proceeded to get only one out while giving up four hits and hitting a batter before being pulled.
Shohei Ohtani then hit a three-run homer to add a few more earned runs to Ginkel's line. The disastrous affair brings Ginkel's ERA to 15.43 and his WHIP to 2.57. Even though Arizona's bullpen is depleted right now, it seems unlikely that Ginkel will get another chance to close out games, at least for a while.
Shelby Miller will likely see the bulk of the opportunities, and he is worth a look in leagues where saves are scarce.

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher
Tomoyuki Sugano had another solid outing on Friday, tossing 7 ⅓ innings of one-run ball in a 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Sugano surrendered just three hits, walked none, and struck out five. The 35-year-old free agent signing has been terrific for the Orioles so far, going 4-2 with a 2.72 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 26 strikeouts in 46 ⅓ IP. It does seem like a bit of a mirage, but Sugano is yet to allow more than three runs in a start and has notched quality starts in four of his last five outings. He is worth a pickup in standard-size leagues, at least until his luck runs out. His next start should come next Thursday against the Minnesota Twins at home, a tasty matchup that should see Sugano in starting lineups in most formats.

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher
Michael Lorenzen had a fantastic outing on Friday, shutting out the Boston Red Sox for seven innings in a tough-luck no-decision. The Royals ended up winning the game 2-1, but it took until the 11th inning for either team to score a run. Lorenzen played his part, allowing just three hits, walking none, and punching out seven in his best outing of the season. The 33-year-old now sits at a 3-3 record, 3.57 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 40 strikeouts in 45 ⅓ IP. Lorenzen is a serviceable pitcher, but is certainly not a must-roster one. He should be used for streaming purposes when the matchup is right. His next start is next Wednesday in Houston, which is a matchup to avoid.

Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter
Shohei Ohtani stayed hot on Friday, going 3-for-6 with a homer and two doubles in a 14-11 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ohtani scored in the first frame, drove in one in the second, and then smashed a go-ahead three-run bomb in the ninth. The three-time MVP has been on fire lately, going 20-for-46 with six homers, 12 RBI, and five steals since April 26. That brings his season-long numbers up to a .304 AVG, 43 runs, 12 homers, 20 RBI, and 10 steals. Those who were worried about Ohtani in late April probably feel a little silly now, as he is once again performing like one of the best players in baseball, both in real life and in fantasy.

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman
Ketel Marte did all he could for his team on Friday, going 2-for-3 with two homers and two walks in a 14-11 loss to the New York Yankees. Marte cracked a pair of solo homers and also scored on
Lourdes Gurriel Jr.'s grand slam. The 31-year-old has put together strong numbers in an injury-shortened start to his season, hitting .292 with 11 runs, three homers, and four RBI in 48 at-bats. When healthy, Marte is one of the best-hitting second basemen in the game. He should remain a fantasy standout throughout the season.

New York Yankees outfielder
Jasson Dominguez had a night to remember on Friday, going 3-for-4 with three homers and seven RBI. Dominguez could not be stopped in this one, hitting solo shots in the third and seventh innings before capping the night off with a grand slam in the eighth. After a slow start to the season, the 22-year-old is suddenly back to solid overall numbers after this monster game. He has a .250 AVG, 20 runs, five homers, 19 RBI, and three swipes in 108 at-bats. Dominguez hasn't been playing every day, but still gets plenty of playing time and hits in a stacked lineup. He should be rostered in standard-size leagues just in case he lives up to his potential, and Friday is a reminder of his sky-high upside.

Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher
Gavin Williams allowed four hits and no runs across five innings of work in Friday's 6-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. The East Carolina alum struck out eight and walked four while improving to 3-2 on the year. Williams again dealt with command issues, hurling 53 of 98 pitches for strikes and walking at least four batters for the second straight start. On the bright side, he's struck out 17 batters over that time, so it hasn't all been bad. Still, command like that will continue to limit his upside and force him from starts early. The 25-year-old's underlying metrics aren't all that inspiring, but he'd be an interesting fantasy asset if he could get the free passes under control. Look for him to line up against the Milwaukee Brewers or the Cincinnati Reds in the middle of next week.

Minnesota Twins pitcher
Chris Paddack allowed three hits and one earned run over 7 2/3 innings in his team's 3-1 win over the San Francisco Giants on Friday. The 29-year-old struck out six and walked none for the first time in 2025, earning his first quality start and win. Paddack had done well to limit damage against him coming into today, but had walked two or more batters in five of seven starts, so it was nice to see him display some control. It was the first time that he'd gone longer than five innings in any of his starts. He looked superb early on in this one, and it's worth noting that his fastball was up a few ticks against the Giants. We'll see if an extra bit of velocity is enough to make him relevant again after years of subpar performance following a promising rookie campaign. He'll square off against the Orioles in their first series next week.

New York Mets starting pitcher
Clay Holmes allowed three hits and one earned run over six innings pitched in Friday's 7-2 win over the Chicago Cubs. Holmes struck out five and walked three while earning his third-straight win to improve to 5-1 on the season. He bolstered a solid 30% CSW with nine swings-and-misses -- five with his sinker. The 32-year-old cruised through three innings unscathed before Chicago's
Kyle Tucker tagged him for a solo shot in the top of the fourth inning. That'd be the lone tally against him, though, as he continues to pitch well for the Mets. He'll carry a fantastic 2.74 ERA and 1.24 WHIP with a 44:16 K:BB ratio (42 2/3 innings) into his next start, which should come early next week at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates. However, it's possible he doesn't toe the rubber again until the following series with the Yankees, considering the Mets have been running him out on five days of rest.
