Ben Griffin has been one of the most consistent players on tour this season. He already has two wins and comes into East Lake riding a stretch of nine finishes of T14 or better in his last 11 starts, including a T12 at the BMW Championship. This will be his first trip to the Tour Championship, and success here typically comes from strong ball-striking, particularly off the tee, from tee to green, and on long approaches. Griffin ranks 20th in strokes gained from tee to green (plus-0.787 per round), 58th off the tee (plus-0.195), and 27th on approach (plus-0.439). His long-iron numbers aren't great at just 100th from 175-200 yards and 118th from 200-plus, but the form he's shown all year more than makes up for that.
