John Wall Retires After 11 NBA Seasons
John Wall announced Tuesday that he is retiring from basketball after 11 seasons in the NBA. Wall spent the majority of his NBA career with the Washington Wizards, but he also had stints with the Rockets and Clippers at the end of his career. The University of Kentucky standout was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft and was named an All-Star five times while in Washington. He also earned NBA All-Defensive Second Team and All-NBA Third Team honors once. The 34-year-old leaves the game with averages of 18.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 8.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 30.3 percent from three-point range and 40.8 percent from the field.
