Demarcus Robinson Issued Three-Game Suspension
Demarcus Robinson a three-game suspension to start the season, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports. The punishment comes as a result of a DUI charge Robinson received last November while he was a member of the Los Angeles Rams. After tallying 31 catches and setting career highs in yards (505) and touchdowns (seven) last season, Robinson joined the 49ers on a two-year, $9.5 million contract in free agency. While the 30-year-old's suspension doesn't come as a surprise, it's nonetheless another blow to a Niners receiving corps dealing with plenty of adversity going into the season. Brandon Aiyuk (knee), Jauan Jennings (calf), Jordan Watkins (ankle), and Jacob Cowing (lower body) are all banged up at the moment. Aiyuk is likely to start 2025 on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Between his injury and Robinson's suspension, the 49ers will be down at least two key receivers when they open their season against the division-rival Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 7.
