Miami Dolphins rookie third-round wide receiver Chris Bell (knee) was out of the red, no-contact jersey at training camp practice on Monday, according to David Furones of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. It did not take long for Bell to ramp back up to a full-go after the Dolphins activated him from the Non-Football Injury list last Monday. The 22-year-old is coming off knee surgery but should be ready to go for Week 1 of his rookie season, barring a setback in the next few weeks. It wouldn't be a surprise if the Dolphins play it safe and keep Bell out of their preseason finale this Friday against the Atlanta Falcons, but the talented rookie will have an opportunity to quickly become a key piece of the offense in Miami when considering that Jalen Tolbert and Malik Washington are their two top receivers. For now, the Louisville product is primarily a stash candidate in dynasty/keeper leagues as he competes for targets behind Tolbert and Washington.--Keith Hernandez

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane and quarterback Malik Willis were both in street clothes for the team's second preseason game on Saturday against the New York Giants, according to David Furones of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. In the 26-3 loss to the G-Men, Jaylen Wright led Miami with six carries, but he gained just nine yards on the ground, while Ollie Gordon II had four carries for only eight yards. Cam Miller led the team in rushing with 18 yards on his two carries. The 24-year-old Achane was a first-time Pro Bowler in 2025 in his third year in the NFL, and he also recorded his first 1,000-yard rushing season. Achane had 1,350 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns on 238 carries while adding 67 receptions (85 targets) for 488 yards and another four TDs as a pass-catcher in 16 starts to finish as the RB6 in half-PPR scoring. He led the league with 5.7 yards per carry, and although volume should not be a problem in 2026, his efficiency could be in an offense expected to struggle with little aerial help for Willis. RotoBaller has Achane ranked as the No. 12 overall fantasy RB as he enters his fourth year in the NFL.--Keith Hernandez

Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver Caleb Douglas did not see any game action in the Dolphins' 26-3 preseason loss to the New York Giants. With no reported injuries or soreness, Douglas likely sat due to his standing in the Dolphins' starting offense. The third-round pick has spent most of training camp and the preseason with the first-team offense, was listed as a starter on the unofficial depth chart, and is now too important to risk in a preseason game. Miami's receiver room remains lackluster, with Malik Washington and third-round pick Chris Bell expected to operate alongside Douglas. However, it appears the former Texas Tech receiver is an integral piece of this offense and should be considered in the late rounds of fantasy drafts.--Nathan Harvey

Miami Dolphins running back Jaylen Wright is emerging as the team's handcuff after starting over Ollie Gordon II in the 26-3 preseason loss to the New York Giants. Despite an inefficient outing, Wright played on all the snaps during the team's opening drive and on 12 of the first 16, while Gordon played afterward. Gordon also suffered an injury late in the game, holding his midsection after a hard hit on a short carry. While both backs are expected to operate behind star running back De'Von Achane, Wright appears to be in line for the backup role behind Achane. Currently ranked RB76 in RotoBaller's positional rankings, Wright could be a late-round dart throw as a handcuff running back this season.--Nathan Harvey

Miami Dolphins tight end Greg Dulcich has enough going his way to be worth another look in redraft leagues. He was quiet for most of 2025, then finally found something late. Over Miami's last five games, Dulcich caught 16 of 18 targets for 222 yards and a touchdown. The Dolphins brought him back in March, and he entered camp leading a rebuilt tight end room. There is more room for targets now, too. Tyreek Hill was released in February and Jaylen Waddle was traded to Denver a month later, leaving Miami without either of its top veteran wideouts from last season. Dulcich has stayed involved with Malik Willis, including a 30-yard completion during practice on August 17. It is not a completely clean setup. Miami used a third-round pick on Will Kacmarek, and Dulcich has never played more than 10 games in an NFL season. Still, the late-2025 production was real and the path to touches is better than it was a year ago. RotoBaller has Dulcich at TE26 and 211th overall in its latest PPR rankings. If you wait on tight end, he is at least worth a swing that late.--Bruno Mulé

Miami Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon II has at least made the backup race worth watching again. Gordon was rough as a rookie, finishing with 199 yards and three touchdowns on 70 carries, but his first preseason showing was much better. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound back ran seven times for 39 yards against Washington while splitting reserve work with Jaylen Wright. Miami still lists Wright second behind De'Von Achane and Gordon third, so one good night hasn't changed the depth chart. The roles are different, too. Miami used Gordon more in short-yardage situations last season, while Wright was the back asked to fill in for Achane. That probably keeps Gordon from being a clean handcuff even if he keeps running well. RotoBaller has him 309th overall in its Aug. 19 PPR rankings, which is deep-draft territory. Gordon isn't a standard-league target yet, but after a better start to this preseason, he's at least earned another look in deeper formats.--Bruno Mulé

Miami Dolphins rookie wide receiver Caleb Douglas has stolen the show this offseason and in preseason play. The third-round pick entered a crowded receiving room with many veteran and rookie options, yet he has emerged as the top threat for the WR1 role in this offense. The former Texas Tech receiver was listed as a starter on the team's unofficial depth chart, a rare honor for a third-round pick, and made his mark in the team's preseason debut against the Washington Commanders. Douglas played a team-high 14 snaps with the first-team offense in that game and made an acrobatic one-handed catch from quarterback Malik Willis. With fellow third-round pick Chris Bell (knee) missing most of training camp, Douglas has the inside track to lead the Dolphins in receiving this season.--Nathan Harvey

Veteran running back Myles Gaskin has announced his retirement from the NFL, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. "Football . . . there will never be enough words to explain how I feel about you, so I won't even try," Gaskin posted to social media on Wednesday night. "What I will do is give all the game you gave me to the next generation of young players who dare to be great. Thank you. It's been real." A seventh-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in the 2019 NFL Draft, Gaskin appeared in 47 games across seven seasons with four different teams, finishing his career with 2,072 yards from scrimmage and 13 touchdowns.--Patrick McGrath

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chris Bell (knee) will remain in a red non-contact jersey Tuesday, but head coach Jeff Hafley said the rookie is set to do a little more after making his practice debut Monday. Bell was activated from the non-football injury list Monday as he works back from the torn ACL he suffered at Louisville on Nov. 22. He only took part in individual drills in his first session back. The next step is team work while still wearing red, though Hafley said he doesn't expect Bell to practice against the Giants or play in Saturday's preseason game. Miami is taking this one slowly. Bell, the 94th overall pick in April, caught 72 passes for 917 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games last season before the injury ended his year. There's still no clear date for full contact. Bell getting back onto the field matters, but he's not close enough yet for fantasy managers to count on an immediate role.--Bruno Mulé

Miami Dolphins rookie third-round wide receiver Caleb Douglas (lower body) is back at training camp practice on Tuesday after a little injury scare on Monday, according to David Furones of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Douglas worked with the starters in the preseason opener last Friday against the Washington Commanders and caught one of his two targets for a 28-yard gain. Nobody is expecting much of the Dolphins' new offense led by QB Malik Willis, but there is plenty of opportunity for Douglas to seize a starting role in 2026 in his first year in the NFL. Right now, Jalen Tolbert and Malik Washington are the team's top pass-catchers, with Douglas competing with Tutu Atwell and fellow third-round rookie Chris Bell (knee) for the WR3 role. Douglas had over 800 receiving yards in each of his final two seasons in college at Texas Tech and 13 total touchdowns in 2024 and 2025. He will probably go undrafted in most shallow fantasy leagues, but he's worth a look as a late-round flier in deeper formats for his opportunity alone in a weak WR room in Miami.--Keith Hernandez

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Caleb Douglas briefly left Monday's practice and went inside, according to David Furones. Douglas was walking fine when he left and returned to the field before practice was over. He put his helmet back on but did not participate in the final period. There has been no injury announced or explanation given for why the rookie stepped away. Douglas has been one of Miami's more consistent performers this summer, with head coach Jeff Hafley recently saying he had earned his spot on the team's initial depth chart. The third-round pick also made his presence felt in Friday's preseason opener against Washington, catching one pass for 28 yards and leading Miami in receiving yardage. Monday's brief exit is something to note, but Douglas returning to the field before the end of practice is at least an encouraging sign.--Bruno Mulé

The Miami Dolphins have activated rookie wide receiver Chris Bell (knee) from the non-football injury list, and the first-year player could soon begin practicing with the team. Once viewed as a first-round talent, Bell tore his ACL in December and fell to the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft. His rare combination of size and speed allowed him to dominate in his final collegiate season at Louisville, racking up over 900 yards on 72 receptions, and while he will now be playing catch-up to begin his NFL career, he could find a mid-season role in a wide-open Dolphins receiver room. Fellow rookie and third-round pick Caleb Douglas has been a training camp standout, and Malik Washington led the team with three catches in Friday's preseason opener, but with the third receiver spot currently being held by Jalen Tolbert, there is a path for Bell to crack the starting lineup by season's end, making him a player to at least remember in the closing rounds of deep drafts. UPDATE: Bell was limited to individual drills in his training camp debut on Monday, according to Sports Illustrated's Alain Poupart.--Patrick McGrath

Miami Dolphins second-year quarterback Quinn Ewers (groin) suffered a groin injury early in his action in Friday's preseason opener against the Washington Commanders and is now considered week-to-week, a source told David Furones of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. As a result, the Dolphins are bringing back QB Mark Gronowski for more depth at the position behind starter Malik Willis and Cam Miller. Ewers, a seventh-rounder in 2025 from the University of Texas, appeared in four games (three starts) as a rookie last year, going 55-for-83 passing for 622 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. The 23-year-old will not be available for the team's next preseason game on Saturday, Aug. 22, versus the New York Giants, but he could be ready to return for the final preseason tilt on Friday, Aug. 28, against the Atlanta Falcons. If healthy for the start of the 2026 regular season, Ewers is primed to open up his second year in the NFL as the backup to Willis.--Keith Hernandez

Aug 15, 2026, 9:26 AM ET

Miami Dolphins Pro Bowler De'Von Achane was the only running back in the league to reach double-digit fantasy points in all of his 2025 starts, and in Friday night's preseason opener, it took him only one drive to reach that mark. Achane touched the ball on half of the team's 14 plays on a 93-yard drive to open the game, and his first five runs went for at least five yards before he was given two goal-line carries, punching in the second for a one-yard touchdown. With Achane's stock falling throughout draft season, tied to an offense of which little is expected in 2026, the impressive scoring drive was as assuring as anything fantasy managers could have asked for. The RB5 in 2025, Achane is currently being drafted as the RB7 and frequently falling out of the first round of 2026 drafts, but Friday's competitive action served as a reminder that he remains one of the most electric players in the league and could still prove to be a league-winner.--Patrick McGrath

Playing with the first-team offense in Friday night's preseason opener, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Malik Washington led the team with three catches on his three targets. Quarterback Malik Willis and the starters looked sharp, opening the game with a 14-play, 93-yard touchdown drive before the backups took over and inefficiency reigned for the rest of the night. Washington was targeted on the first two plays of the game, a four-yard catch followed by an eight-yard completion to move the sticks and get the drive rolling. Of Willis' four completed passes, only one went away from Washington, a 28-yard deep shot to rookie Caleb Douglas. While the Dolphins offense has been panned for much of the offseason, little more could be asked of the first unit in their limited action, and if Washington's chemistry with his new quarterback can carry into the regular season, he could prove to be an incredible value as RotoBaller's WR86, particularly in PPR leagues.--Patrick McGrath
