Detroit Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows (quad) is "hitting and throwing daily" and "closing in on potentially beginning a rehab assignment soon," according to MLB.com. Meadows has been on the injured list since July 28 with a right quad strain. Multiple injuries have limited Meadows to 137 plate appearances this season, and he's struggled to a .200/.270/.296 slash line with two home runs, nine RBI, 15 runs scored, and three stolen bases. The Tigers have been using a combination of Javier Baez and Wenceel Perez in center field while Meadows has been out. Meadows could see the majority of starts against right-handed pitching when he returns, but he'll have to perform better the rest of the way than he has so far in a small sample.--Will BradySource: MLB.com

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah (elbow) had a rough start for Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday. Manoah worked 1 2/3 innings, allowing two hits and three earned runs while walking three and hitting a batter. It was the first rehab outing for Manoah at the Triple-A level as he works his way back from the elbow surgery he underwent in June 2024. The 27-year-old has struggled throughout his rehab, allowing nine earned runs, 11 hits, and eight walks across seven total innings. Recent reports indicate that even when fully healthy, Manoah is unlikely to rejoin what has become a deep Blue Jays' starting rotation in 2025.--Will BradySource: milb.com

Miami Dolphins linebacker Chop Robinson (rib) returned to training camp practice on Thursday, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. It comes a day after Robinson was carted from joint practice with th Detroit Lions early with a rib injury. "It was a rib hit that we had to make sure we were responsible and didn't have any fractures or anything like that," McDaniel said. "He's definitely sore, but he'll be practicing today." The former first-rounder last year has drawn rave reviews for his performance this summer after recording six sacks in his first NFL season in 2024. Linebacker Jaelan Phillips (undisclosed) was unable to practice on Thursday due to an undisclosed injury. The 22-year-old Robinson will be looking to build on a solid rookie season ro the Dolphins defense in 2025.--Keith HernandezSource: ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques

Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Tyler Anderson (back) has been cleared to make his start on Saturday in Sacramento against the Athletics. Anderson was scratched from his scheduled start this past Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers due to back stiffness. In 122 1/3 innings (23 starts) so far this season, Anderson is 2-7 with a 4.63 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 97 strikeouts. He's allowed an atrocious 1.91 HR/9, which makes this upcoming start in Sacramento one to avoid.--Will BradySource: MLB.com

Cleveland Browns quarterback Kenny Pickett (hamstring) is still limited at the team's training camp practice on Thursday, according to Zac Jackson of The Athletic. Pickett injured his hamstring back on July 26 and has not practiced with the rest of the team since then. Although the Browns haven't made any final decisions on the QB battle, it's a near certainty that veteran Joe Flacco will be anointed the Week 1 starter eventually. In addition to Pickett, rookies Dillon Gabriel (hamstring) and Shedeur Sanders (oblique) are also dealing with injuries, although it's expected that Gabriel will start the second preseason game on Saturday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Pickett could be back with the rest of the team by the end of this week, as he has been participating in seven-on-seven drills. The 27-year-old appears ticketed for the backup role to Flacco to begin the 2025 regular season.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Zac Jackson

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman is drawing praise from quarterback Josh Allen in the wideout's second professional training camp. Coleman was hard on himself when evaluating his play during his rookie season, but Allen says he's dominating one-on-one situations in practices. The former second-round pick logged 29 receptions for 556 yards and four touchdowns last season. He appeared to be trending up before a wrist injury sidelined the then-rookie for four games. The Bills are currently without Khalil Shakir (ankle) and are relying on Coleman to transform into the team's top wideout. Deep threat Joshua Palmer is also projected to be a starter. Finding Allen's potential go-to receiver in the late rounds of a fantasy football draft makes Coleman an excellent sleeper selection.--Andrew Ball - RotoBallerSource: Mike Moraitis - SI.com

Cleveland Browns running back Dylan Sampson was the first running back up in the rotation during Wednesday and Thursday's joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to The Athletic's Zac Jackson. The fourth-round rookie's stock has grown throughout training camp. Second-round pick Quinshon Judkins is involved in legal trouble and hasn't signed a contract with the Browns. That makes Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr. the biggest competitors for touches. Ford took a pay cut to remain with Cleveland, and the coaching staff may be favoring the rookie over the fourth-year veteran. The Browns are projected to have one of the league's worst offenses, and running back touchdowns may be hard to come by. Both Ford and Sampson are double-digit fantasy football selections. The rookie is a sleeper for what could be a heavy workload this season.--Andrew Ball - RotoBallerSource: Zac Jackson - The Athletic

Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel (hamstring) is expected to start the team's second preseason game Saturday against the Philadelphia Eagles. The rookie third-round pick didn't play in the first exhibition game due to his hamstring issue. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Gabriel will only miss the start if there's a setback or soreness after practices. Gabriel's absence last week opened the door for fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders (oblique) to start the first preseason game. Sanders was in line for an encore start before an oblique injury took him out of the running. Kenny Pickett (hamstring) is also nursing an injury. Cleveland is currently rostering six quarterbacks and may carry four into the regular season. Neither rookie is scheduled for immediate playing time with 40-year-old Joe Flacco widely expected to be the Week 1 starter.--Andrew Ball - RotoBallerSource: Mary Kay Kabot - Cleveland.com

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown (hamstring) did not participate in the team's joint practice with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday. It's his second straight day watching from the sideline after putting in a limited session on Tuesday. The veteran receiver has been managing the ailment for nearly two weeks now, and it would be a surprise to see Brown on the field for a preseason game. The 28-year-old missed three games with a hamstring issue last season. Despite that, Brown logged his third-straight 1,000-yard season and is ranked as a top 10 fantasy football wide receiver once again. For now, it doesn't appear like Brown is in jeopardy of missing any regular-season action, but the situation is worth watching as the preseason winds down.--Andrew Ball - RotoBallerSource: Jeff McLane - Philadelphia Inquirer

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta (undisclosed) will be sidelined for "a little bit of time here," according to head coach Dan Campbell. The team did not elaborate on LaPorta's injury, only that he'd be held out of joint practices with the Miami Dolphins. He will likely sit out Saturday's preseason game as well. Campbell said that the injury isn't a major one, so it doesn't appear like LaPorta is at risk of missing any regular-season games. Brock Wright and Shane Zylstra will move up the depth chart and work as the team's top two tight ends until LaPorta returns. The 24-year-old finished the 2024 season as the TE8 with 60 catches, 726 yards, and seven touchdowns, and is ranked as a top-five fantasy football tight end entering his third season.--Andrew Ball - RotoBallerSource: Nolan Bianchi - Detroit News

Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Drew Rasmussen picked up his 10th win of the season on Wednesday night by spinning six strong innings against the A's in Sacramento. He allowed two runs (one earned) on just three hits with five strikeouts and no walks. Rasmussen has allowed two runs or fewer in seven straight starts, with a 2.08 ERA and 2.52 FIP over that span. The Rays limited his innings early in that stretch, but have allowed him to work deeper into games in his last few outings. The 30-year-old righty has had his last two seasons cut short by arm injuries, but he has been very effective this season. He will likely face the Yankees or Cardinals in his next start at home next week, although the Rays will carefully monitor his innings since he totaled 73 1/3 innings over the last two years and is already up to 117 2/3 innings this year.--Zach ThompsonSource: ESPN.com

Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero crushed his 34th homer of the season on Wednesday night to help power the Rays to an 8-2 win that also gave them the series victory over the Athletics at Sutter Health Park. Caminero's two-run blast in the ninth came off reliever Elvis Alvarado and gives Caminero six homers in his last seven games with a .414 batting average and .621 wOBA in that short span. Since the All-Star break, the 22-year-old rookie is hitting .296 with a .409 wOBA and 11 homers in 25 games. He's quickly established himself as one of the best young sluggers in baseball, and Caminero looks lined up to be a top fantasy producer for years to come.--Zach ThompsonSource: ESPN.com

Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Harris II went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, four RBI, and his 13th homer of the season on Wednesday night in New York. His grand slam was part of the nine-run fourth inning that turned a 6-0 deficit into a 9-6 lead, in a game which the Braves held on to win, 11-6. Harris is still only hitting .246 on the season, but since the All-Star break, he has been excellent, posting a .366 batting average and .454 wOBA backed up by a 52.9% hard-hit rate. The 2018 NL Rookie of the Year had a brutal start to the season but has picked things up in the second half, giving fantasy managers lots to consider as the 24-year-old continues to patrol center field every day for the Braves. If you held on through his brutal start, enjoy this red-hot run.--Zach ThompsonSource: ESPN.com

According to Travis Holmes of Big Cat Country, Jaguars rookie running back Bhayshul Tuten appears to be pulling ahead in the RB competition during team practices. Holmes noted that Tuten "looks like a hard man to take off the field." While veteran running backs Travis Etienne Jr. and Tank Bigsby have been given more opportunities with the first team during training camp, the fourth-round rookie has been making a strong case to take the starting job. During his preseason debut, Tuten ran the ball six times and picked up 24 yards and a rushing score. Even though he was deployed as the No. 3 running back in this game, seeing him flash more potential during practice should quickly push him up the depth chart. Last season, Etienne had a disappointing campaign, posting a career-low 3.7 YPC. For now, Tuten remains an intriguing late-round target in drafts as he could slowly take over the starting job as the season progresses.--Andy SmithSource: Travis Holmes

Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant is poised to significantly enhance the team's title hopes in 2025-26. But the leadership in Houston reportedly isn't interested in offering him a maximum contract extension. "Certainly, I think both sides want that to be more than a one-year window," ESPN's Tim MacMahon reported on Wednesday. "But it's not going to be a max extension. If that was the priority for Kevin Durant, it would have been done in conjunction with the trade and he probably wouldn't have ended up in Houston." The veteran superstar is entering the final season of a four-year, $198 million deal. He is currently eligible to sign a two-year, $118 million extension. MacMahon added that Houston's priority at the moment is to extend Tari Eason.--Taavi PailkSource: ClutchPoints

Power forward Isaiah Mobley has moved to Europe for the season, signing a deal with Manisa Basket in Turkey. Manisa joined the Turkish championship just a few years ago, so this is quite a coup for the team. Mobley will pause his NBA career after making 23 appearances in the league. Following a couple of campaigns with his brother Evan in Cleveland, Mobley suited up once for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2024-25. He's made minimal impact as a player in the Association, averaging 2.6 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.5 minutes. Mobley has done well in the G League, though, posting 18.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game for his career.--Taavi PailkSource: Sportando

Forward Cole Swider has inked a deal with Turkish team Anadolu Efes for the upcoming campaign. Anadolu Efes, which won consecutive EuroLeague titles in 2021 and 2022, picked up Swinder following a standout G League season. The 26-year-old averaged 20.7 points with 44.3 percent shooting from three-point range and grabbed 5.9 rebounds. In the NBA, Swinder was limited to 10 outings with the Detroit Pistons and Toronto Raptors. The sharpshooter from Rhode Island has also seen time on the court with the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat, averaging 3.1 points in 35 career NBA appearances.--Taavi PailkSource: EuroLeague

Shooting guard Ethan Thompson will join the Miami Heat for training camp, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. The 26-year-old has agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract, meaning Miami now has 18 of its 21 preseason roster spots filled. Thompson, who went undrafted in 2021, is looking to finally break into the NBA after a productive season with the Osceola Magic in the G League. Across 31 regular-season appearances, Thompson averaged 18.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists, shooting 39.1 percent from downtown. The Heat had one of the lowest three-point percentages in the NBA last season, so Thompson could definitely help the team improve in that aspect.--Taavi PailkSource: Anthony Chiang

Point guard Jason Preston has signed a training-camp deal with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Keith Smith of Spotrac.com. The 26-year-old will try to earn a roster spot in the NBA after missing the entire 2024-25 campaign with a calf strain. Preston started his pro career with the Clippers in 2022-23 and has also suited up for the Utah Jazz, making 21 total career appearances. The former Ohio Bobcat hasn't seen any success at this level so far, averaging only 2.5 points and 2.0 assists in 9.3 minutes. However, Preston has been impressive in the G League, notching 16.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 8.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.--Taavi PailkSource: Keith Smith

New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs (knee) was signed in the offseason to add firepower to the team's pass-catching corps. He tore his ACL during the 2024 season while a member of the Houston Texans and has been easing back into action thus far in training camp. Diggs has been fully cleared for participation in camp, but he did not suit up for New England's first preseason game last week. He sat down and talked to Scoop City's Dianna Russini on Wednesday, but would not commit to being ready to play against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1, as he told her "we'll see" when asked. Signs have been positive for Diggs thus far, but fantasy managers drafting him need to at least be aware of the possibility that he is not out there in Week 1.--Matt TerelleSource: Dianna Russini on Twitter

Los Angeles Chargers tight end Oronde Gadsden is making a positive impression in training camp so far. According to The Athletic's Daniel Popper, Gadsden "continues to show up consistently in the passing game" for the Chargers. The rookie tight end made an "explosive" catch during Wednesday's practice as he continues to show why the Chargers used a fifth-round pick on him in the 2025 NFL draft. Gadsden caught two of his four targets for 15 yards in Los Angeles' preseason game against the New Orleans Saints last week. He is athletic and well-regarded as a pass catcher, but still has veterans Tyler Conklin and Will Dissly ahead of him on the depth chart. From a fantasy football perspective, Gadsden is more interesting for dynasty managers as he's unlikely to be relevant in redraft leagues until next season.--Matt TerelleSource: The Athletic

Minnesota Twins second base prospect Luke Keaschall continued his impressive start to his MLB career on Wednesday evening during their victory over the New York Yankees. In this contest, Keaschall went 1-for-5 with a run and an RBI. In the fourth, Keaschall tallied his RBI via groundout, which scored Trevor Larnach. Later in the sixth, Keaschall would score on a Kody Clemens double. Since returning from injury on August 5, the former second-round pick has been one of the most productive hitters in the sport, posting an elite .324/.324/.588 slash line with three doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI, and three runs. In his first six games in the majors before his injury in April, Keaschall looked just as impressive, swiping five bags and hitting a .368 AVG. He is a must-roster player going forward given his power and speed upside.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

Colorado Rockies third base prospect Kyle Karros has looked quite strong since joining the MLB roster earlier in August. Through his first six games in the major leagues, Karros has posted a .333/.417/.476 slash line with three doubles and a 4:3 K:BB. On Wednesday, Karros scored an impressive three runs and posted his second multi-hit game of his MLB career. Before earning the call earlier in August, Karros was considered the No. 8-ranked prospect in the system on MLB.com. He spent the first half of the season split between Double-A and Triple-A. With Double-A, he held a .294/.399/.462 line. Through a short 16-game stint with Triple-A, Karros continued to hit, posting a .206/.368/.500 slash line. Given his steady production, he is worth a look in all 12-team leagues as he seems to have earned a starting job in the Colorado lineup.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

New York Yankees right-handed pitching prospect Cam Schlittler struck out six hitters in a no-decision against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday evening. The right-hander logged five innings of one-run ball. He allowed only two hits and two walks. Most of his damage came in the fourth inning when Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton knocked a double and eventually scored on a Luke Keaschall RBI groundout. Since the start of August (three starts), Schlittler has posted a 3.00 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 15:5 K:BB across 15 innings of work. In his first three starts in the majors, he held a higher 4.91 ERA with a 1.84 WHIP. Given his strong production in August, fantasy managers should expect the Northeast product to remain in the starting rotation for the time being. He is lined up to face the Tampa Bay Rays in his next start.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

Kansas City Royals catching prospect Carter Jensen (wrist) was held out of the starting nine on Wednesday due to a right wrist contusion. Rogers noted that the backstop sustained this injury during his contest at Triple-A on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his stats in case this injury begins to linger. The 22-year-old opened the regular season with Double-A but needed only 68 games to prove he was ready to join Triple-A Omaha. At Double-A, Jensen held a .292/.360/.420 line with nine doubles and six home runs. Since joining Omaha, Jensen has continued to find success at the plate, holding a .252/.358/.574 slash line with eight doubles, nine home runs, and two stolen bases. He is a prospect to watch as he could push for a late-season MLB debut.--Andy SmithSource: Anne Rogers

Los Angeles Angels second base prospect Christian Moore has begun to lose playing time. He hit the bench once again on Wednesday, in favor of Luis Rengifo. Over the last week, the former eighth overall pick has sat out of three games. Fantasy managers should continue to keep an eye on his status, but it appears the Angels could option him back to Triple-A as he is falling out of a role with the major league club. Since returning from the injured list on August 3, Moore has held a modest .200/.310/.280 line with two doubles and an 8:4 K:BB. During this stretch, Moore has not gone deep. Throughout his first 18 games in the majors before his injury, Moore held a .189 AVG with a .698 OPS. Given his decreasing playing time and lack of success at the plate, he is only worth rostering in deeper formats for the time being.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com
