Seattle Mariners catcher Mitch Garver (jaw) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Texas Rangers. Garver was forced to make an early exit on Thursday after getting hit in the face with a ball. As a result, Garver missed two games, but is back in the lineup for this one. He'll draw the start behind the plate and bat seventh against right-hander Jack Leiter. Garver doesn't see enough playing time to warrant rostering in fantasy formats.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Los Angeles Angels shortstop Zach Neto (shoulder) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals. Neto has been able to pinch-hit in each of the last two games, but is out of the lineup for the fourth straight contest. The fact that Neto has been able to come off the bench means he shouldn't require a trip to the injured list. The Angels have a scheduled day off on Monday, so hopefully Neto can return for Tuesday's contest. In the meantime, Kevin Newman will cover shortstop and bat ninth versus left-hander Mitchell Parker.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout is out of the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals. This is the first day off for Trout since June 1, so a well-deserved absence for him. Trout has looked better at the plate since returning from the injured list. He has a hit in each of his last four games, including a home run during Saturday's contest. The 33-year-old might've lost a step since his younger days, but can still swing the bat at a high level. Travis d'Arnaud will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth versus left-hander Mitchell Parker on Sunday.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (hamstring) has been placed on the 10-day injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the San Francisco Giants. Robert was pulled from Wednesday's game due to a hamstring issue. He has been unable to play since then, so the White Sox have decided to place him on the injured list. The White Sox didn't call-up anyone prior to Sunday's game, so a corresponding move will be made later. Michael A. Taylor will cover center field on Sunday and figures to see more action out there going forward. Robert is in the middle of a bad slump at the plate, so maybe some time off will help him get back on track.--Andy WebbSource: White Sox

San Francisco Giants infielder Casey Schmitt (wrist) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Sunday's game against the Chicago White Sox. Schmitt will now miss his fourth straight game due to wrist contusion. Giants manager Bob Melvin told reporters that Schmitt will undergo an MRI on Monday. Schmitt continues to deal with pain in his wrist from getting hit by a pitch earlier in the week. It's possible he lands on the injured list, but for now fantasy managers can consider him as day-to-day. Wilmer Flores will take over at first base and bat third versus right-hander Jonathan CannonUPDATE: Schmitt will likely undergo an MRI exam in Arizona this week.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

The Cincinnati Reds have released infielder Jeimer Candelario. Candelario was activated from the 10-day injured list on Monday and designated him for assignment. However, after clearing waivers, the Reds opted to cut ties with the 31-year-old. Candelario appeared in 22 games for the Reds before being released. During this stint, Candelario held an underwhelming .113/.198/.213 line with two doubles and two home runs. Under the hood, he generated a .113 xBA and a .217 xwOBA. During his first season in Cincinnati last summer, Candelario did not find much success as well, holding a .225/.279/.429 line with 23 doubles and 20 round-trippers. Given his power upside, he may draw interest on the free agent market later in the season. In the infield, fantasy managers should expect Spencer Steer and Christian Encarnacion-Strand to cover first and third base in Cincinnati.--Andy SmithSource: Gordon Wittenmyer

Cleveland Guardians infielder Gabriel Arias (leg/ankle) was carted off the field on Sunday during their outing against the St. Louis Cardinals. Arias got his cleat stuck in the dirt while attempting to play a groundball, which caused the injury. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but it appears the 25-year-old may have sustained a significant injury. The infielder underwent X-rays, but the results came back negative. Arias was eventually replaced by infielder Daniel Schneemann. Before exiting, Arias went 0-for-1 at the dish. Through 76 games this season, Arias has held a .232/.294/.370 slash line with 17 doubles, six home runs, and three stolen bases. Under the hood, he has generated a low .300 xwOBA with a .222 xBA. While he remains sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Schneeman to see most of the opportunities at shortstop.--Andy SmithSource: Chris Assenheimer

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper (wrist) was able to face live pitching during the weekend during their road series against the Atlanta Braves. According to Bill Trocchi of the Associated Press, Harper faced live pitching at Truist Park. This is a significant step for Harper as he is nearing his return from the 10-day injured list. The 32-year-old hit the IL with wrist inflammation on June 7. However, seeing him already begin to face live pitching suggests he could be on the verge of his return. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could be eligible to return early in the week. Before his injury, Harper was swinging a hot bat, holding a .327/.400/.519 line with four doubles and two home runs over his last 14 games. While he remains out, fantasy managers should expect Otto Kemp and Alec Bohm to see most of the time at first base.--Andy SmithSource: Bill Trocchi

Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman (hamstring) remains out of the starting nine on Sunday when they conclude a series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Goodman has been dealing with a tight hamstring. The backup has missed each of the last three games and appears to be in danger of being placed on the injured list. Fantasy managers should continue to keep a close eye on his status leading up to their next game on Tuesday against the Houston Astros. Before his injury, Goodman posted an impressive .346/.378/.744 slash line with six doubles, two triples, seven home runs, and 17 RBI over his last 19 games. This afternoon, the Rockies will give Baxton Fulford the starting nod behind the dish. The Rockies are not worth targeting in DFS facing Milwaukee's right-hander Chad Patrick.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Pena (ribs) remains out of the starting lineup on Sunday when they conclude a series against the Chicago Cubs. Pena was held out of action on Saturday after exiting Friday's contest early with a rib injury. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to their next game on Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies. Pena's X-rays came back negative and should still be viewed as day-to-day. This afternoon, the Astros will give Mauricio Dubon the starting nod at shortstop and will bat in the eight-hole. Pena has been performing at an elite level through the first half, posting a .322/.378/.489 line with 11 home runs and 15 stolen bases. The Astros are worth a look in DFS facing Chicago right-hander Jameson Taillon, who enters this game holding a 4.47 ERA.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero is not in Sunday's lineup when the Rays conclude a series against the Baltimore Orioles. Caminero has started in each of the past seven games. During this stretch, the former top prospect has posted a .233/.258/.567 slash line with one double and three long balls. Since June 1, the third baseman has been one of the best power hitters in the game, posting a .511 SLG and a .841 OPS. Fantasy managers should expect Caminero to return to the starting nine on Monday when they open a series against the Athletics. This afternoon, the Rays will give Curtis Mead the starting nod at the hot corner. He will bat in the six-hole. The Rays are a top stack to target in DFS facing Baltimore right-hander Dean Kremer, who holds a 4.60 ERA.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

According to Scott Agness, free-agent forward Bojan Bogdanovic has decided to retire from the NBA. Bogdanovic last played with the New York Knicks during the 2023-2024 season. He suffered a foot injury during the playoffs that season that required surgery, which is part of the reason he has decided to call it a career. Bogdanvoic played for a handful of organizations, but was most successful during his time with the Utah Jazz. At one point, Bogdanovic averaged 20.2 points per game during the 2019 season with Utah. He played 10 years in the league and averaged 15.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists across 719 total games.--Andy WebbSource: Scott Agness

Los Angeles Lakers forward Dorian Finney-Smith has decided to decline his $15.4 million player option for next season. According to Shams Charania, Finney-Smith will head to free agency, but he isn't ruling out a return to the Lakers. He began last season with the Brooklyn Nets, but was traded to the Lakers in December. Finney-Smith averaged 7.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists across 28.8 minutes per game in 43 contests with the Lakers. He has been a consistent player throughout his career and should have decent value on the open market. Finney-Smith did recently undergo ankle surgery, but should be fine in time for training camp.--Andy WebbSource: Shams Charania

Baltimore Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said that switch-hitting catcher Adley Rutschman (oblique) has done some throwing but hasn't resumed swinging a bat yet. Rutschman is making progress from a left-oblique strain, but it's still unclear if the 27-year-old backstop will be ready to roll for the start of the second half of the season after the All-Star break on July 18. In the meantime, veteran Gary Sanchez will serve as Baltimore's primary catcher. Sanchez has plenty of swing and miss in his game, but the 32-year-old Dominican does still have some pop in his bat and recorded four hits and four RBI in a big game in Friday's series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays. Sanchez's fantasy value in two-catcher leagues receives a boost until Rutschman returns. Rutschman, the former first overall pick, has been a fantasy disappointment in 2025 with eight homers, 20 RBI and a .227 average (55-for-242).--Keith HernandezSource: The Baltimore Sun - Matt Weyrich

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jaylin Williams is signing a new deal with the organization on Sunday. The two sides have agreed on a three-year, $24 million contract extension. Instead of picking up his $2.1 million team option, the Thunder and Williams have figured out a better deal. Sadly, injuries limited Williams to only 47 games last season. He averaged 5.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 16.7 minutes per game. He has become a valuable piece even without big minutes in the rotation. However, the lack of playing time does take away from his fantasy value.--Andy WebbSource: Shams Charania

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James has reportedly picked up his $52.6 million player option for the 2025-2026 season. James will be back for another season, but it might not be with the Lakers. He is well aware that the Lakers are building for the future and James wants a chance to win now. For now, James is sticking with the Lakers, but we'll see if that changes. He suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain during the playoffs, but is expected to be ready to go by training camp. Despite his age, James still remains a top tier fantasy option.--Andy WebbSource: Shams Charania

Baltimore Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said that right-hander Zach Eflin (back) is "trending toward in injured list" stint. Eflin was pulled from his start early on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rays with a lower-back strain and will likely be put on the shelf with the All-Star break looming. The Orioles aren't going to take any chances with the 31-year-old, especially since he dealt with back issues the last two years. The former first-rounder only made it one inning on Saturday while allowing four earned runs on five hits (one homer) while walking none and striking out none. It's been a rough year for Eflin in 2025, as he's gone 6-5 with a 5.95 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with only 42 strikeouts in 62 innings over his 12 starts. Lefty Cade Povich (hip) is getting close to returning from a stint on the IL and could be the replacement for Eflin in Baltimore's starting rotation.--Keith HernandezSource: The Baltimore Sun - Matt Weyrich

Baltimore Orioles infielder Jordan Westburg (finger) remains out of the team's starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays at Camden Yards. Ramon Urias gets another start at third base and will hit second against Rays right-hander Taj Bradley. Westburg injured his left index finger last Saturday and missed a few games before aggravating his finger in Friday's series opener against Tampa. The 26-year-old will miss a second straight game and could be forced back to the injured list to close out the first half of the season if he's unable to return to the lineup next week. His next chance to return will be on Monday in Texas against the Rangers. According to interim manager Tony Mansolino, Westburg is likely to return early next week. Urias doesn't have much pop in his bat but does have a solo homer in four career at-bats against Bradley.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar (ribs), who has been bothered by rib pain recently, winced in pain during a check swing on Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians but stayed in the game. Nootbaar is out of the lineup for Sunday's series finale in Cleveland against a left-hander, and manager Oliver Marmol said there was no medical update on Nootbaar. It's something to watch for fantasy managers going into St. Louis' series opener on Monday in Pittsburgh against the division-rival Pirates. Despite not being 100 percent physically of late, the 27-year-old outfielder has gone 8-for-30 (.267) with three home runs, a double, seven RBI and four runs scored in eight games since June 19. He's hitting just .227 (68-for-299) on the year, but his xBA of .246 supports the fact that he has some positive regression coming. Nootbaar has also added 11 home runs as a regular for St. Louis.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com - John Denton

Cleveland Guardians second base prospect Travis Bazzana (oblique) has begun progressing in baseball activities at the team's facility in Arizona. The former first overall pick has been running and throwing but is still "several weeks away" from participating in live games, according to team president Chris Antonetti. Bazzana hit the 7-day IL with a right internal oblique strain in May. At the time, he was expected to miss at least eight weeks of action. Before his injury, Bazzana was starting to find his footing at the Double-A level. Through 33 games with Akron, the Oregon State product held a .252/.362/.433 line with five doubles, three triples, four home runs, and eight stolen bases. When he returns to action, he will likely report to Double-A. If he can enjoy a strong second half, he could be in the mix to earn a taste of Triple-A over the final months of the season.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, Boston Celtics guard Anfernee Simons "is a possible re-trade candidate." The 26-year-old, who has one season left on his current deal, was recently acquired from the Portland Trail Blazers in a swap for Jrue Holiday. The Celtics have fielded calls for Derrick White and Jaylen Brown. However, Simons may be the favorite to be moved, especially with the C's looking to cut costs heading into the 2025 campaign. Simons emerged as a borderline All-Star in the last few years, most recently averaging 19.3 points and 4.8 assists in 70 appearances in 2024. It could be difficult for him to remain as productive in Boston, although his fantasy value will improve if he's traded to a team where he'll receive more scoring opportunities.--Dennis ClausenSource: Jake Fischer

Cincinnati Reds right-handed pitcher Graham Ashcraft (groin) threw a bullpen session on June 27 and is expected to throw another later on Sunday. Ashcraft could then proceed to throw a simulated game on June 2 if he continues to progress well. Ashcraft has been on the 15-day injured list with a right groin strain since June 17. After operating primarily out of the rotation through his first three MLB campaigns, the Reds shifted Ashcraft to the bullpen to open the 2025 season. Through 34 1/3 innings of relief this season, Ashcraft has held a modest 4.19 ERA with a high 1.51 WHIP. He has struck out 38 batters but allowed walks at a high 9.8% rate. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could return to action before the All-Star break.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com

Chase Elliott is back in NASCAR Cup Series victory lane, as the Hendrick Motorsports driver showed impressive drafting and passing skills to take the win in Saturday night's Quaker State 400 at EchoPark Speedway. The victory snaps a 44-race winless streak for the 2020 Cup Series Champion and vaults Chase into second-place in the points standings behind his teammate, William Byron. After the race, Elliott remarked, "All the cards fell on the right places there those last couple laps,. What a crazy race. ... It was wild from my seat. I'm so glad we got to run that thing out there to the end." It was the second career win for Elliott at Atlanta, with his first one coming back in 2022. The Cup Series now heads to the Chicago Street Course, where Chase has a third-place finish to his credit (in 2023).--Jordan McAbeeSource: FOX Sports

Brad Keselowski has had a very rough 2025 season, but there was a glimmer of hope near the end of Saturday night's race at EchoPark Speedway (Atlanta), as the No. 6 Ford was in firm control of the race lead for most of the final stage. However, when the checkered flag flew, Keselowski was just one position short, finishing second to race-winner Chase Elliott in an epic final few laps of racing. On the team radio after crossing the finish line, Keselowski remarked, "I just needed a teammate." He needed someone to give him a push to get back around Elliott. Keselowski is now 27th in the points standings but will likely need a win if he wants to make the playoffs this season.--Jordan McAbeeSource: Catchfence

The Chicago White Sox have activated right-handed pitcher Jonathan Cannon (back) from the 15-day IL prior to his start on Sunday against the San Francisco Giants. In a corresponding move, the White Sox have sent right-handed pitcher Wikelman Gonzalez to Triple-A Charlotte. Cannon has been on the injured list since the start of June with a back strain. Before his injury, the 24-year-old posted a modest 4.66 ERA with a 1.40 WHIP through his first 63 2/3 innings with the White Sox. He tallied just 51 strikeouts and held a 7.5% walk rate. Under the hood, Cannon generated a 4.66 xERA and a .268 xBA, which are both well above the average marks. Fantasy managers should not view Cannon as a viable streaming option facing the Giants this afternoon.--Andy SmithSource: Chicago White Sox

The NFL informed teams that for the second straight year, they will not hold a supplemental draft this summer, sources told The Athletic. The supplemental draft is an option for draft-eligible players who did not declare for the regular NFL draft in the spring for various reasons. The supplemental draft was last held in 2023 with two eligible prospects, but neither was selected. A player hasn't been taken in the supplemental draft since 2019, when the Arizona Cardinals took defensive back Jalen Thompson. In all, 46 players have been selected in the supplemental draft's history, with notable selections being quarterback Bernie Kosar (1985), wide receiver Cris Carter (1987) and receiver Josh Gordon (2012).--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Jayna Bardahl and Dane Brugler

The New York Yankees have activated right-handed pitcher Marcus Stroman (knee) off the 15-day injured list prior to his start on Sunday against the Athletics. Stroman has been sidelined since April due to this injury. Stroman did not find much success during his first three outings of the season. Through 9 1/3 innings of work, the right-hander posted a high 11.57 ERA with a 2.04 WHIP. During this stint, he tallied just seven strikeouts and allowed walks at a high 14.9% rate. Through 10 1/3 innings of rehab work, Stroman showed similar struggles, allowing eight runs, 13 hits, and a 9:5 K:BB. Last season with the Yankees, Stroman held a modest 4.31 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP. Given his struggles through the early part of the campaign, he is best to fade in all formats facing the Athletics.--Andy SmithSource: New York Yankees

Cornerback Damon Arnette was taken 19th overall by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020 but played only 13 games over two seasons before being released in November of 2021 after brandishing a weapon and threatening someone's life in a viral video. He was later cut from the Chiefs practice squad after an arrest for assault with a deadly weapon. Since then, Arnette has turned his life around, including a stint in the UFL with the Houston Roughnecks. Arnette is now with the Texans, a team loaded with cornerback talent, so his role will be far different than it was with the Raiders when he entered the league five years ago. The 28-year-old will be competing for a spot on the roster in training camp and will need to win over a new group of coaches.--Keith HernandezSource: KPRC 2 Sports - Aaron Wilson

Tampa Bay Rays right-handed pitcher Alex Faedo (shoulder) began a rehab assignment in the Florida Complex League on June 27. The 29-year-old has been on the shelf through the entire first half of the campaign due to shoulder soreness. In his first outing with the Rays' affiliate in the FCL, Faedo logged two shutout innings with two hits, no walks, and two strikeouts. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could be in the mix to move to a higher level in the minor leagues in the coming weeks. Last season, the right-hander logged 57 1/3 innings with the Detroit Tigers. He made 37 appearances, with only six coming as a starter. During this stint, he posted a 3.61 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP. When he returns to Tampa Bay, he will likely find a role as a middle relief option in the bullpen.--Andy SmithSource: MLB.com
