Green Bay Packers running back MarShawn Lloyd (undisclosed) "walked off gingerly with a trainer" after a collision in practice on Monday, according to Andy Herman of the Pack-A-Day Podcast. It's too soon to tell how serious this injury is, but it's an ominous sign for the second-year back. Drafted in the third round in 2024, Lloyd missed almost all of his rookie year due to hip, hamstring, ankle, and appendix issues. He entered camp this year competing with Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks for the backup job behind Josh Jacobs in Green Bay. Lloyd averaged 7.1 yards per rush attempt and scored nine touchdowns in his final college season at USC in 2023, but he hasn't gained much traction at the NFL level to date. An extended training camp absence would put him even further behind the eight ball entering his second season.--Will BradySource: Pack-A-Day Podcast - Andy Herman

Houston Astros general manager Dana Brown said that right-hander Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) will make another minor-league rehab start, and if it goes well, he's expected to come off the injured list and rejoin the big-league club. Arrighetti threw 62 pitches in his latest rehab start on Saturday with Double-A Corpus Christi and allowed three runs (two earned) while walking one and striking out two in 3 1/3 innings. The 25-year-old wasn't all that sharp, so the Astros will give him another game on the farm to tighten things up and also lengthen out. When Arrighetti is cleared to rejoin the big leagues, he should immediately jump right back into the starting rotation and be relevant in mixed fantasy leagues. The former sixth-rounder made only two starts before his injury and wasn't exactly sharp with six earned runs allowed in 9 2/3 frames.--Keith HernandezSource: Sports Talk 790

New York Mets prospect Ryan Clifford was named Eastern League Player of the Week after a dominant stretch at Double-A. The 21-year-old slugger batted .522 with four home runs and eight walks, showcasing his advanced power and plate discipline. On the season, Clifford is slashing .245/.367/.497 with 21 home runs, a 26.6% strikeout rate, and an impressive 15.5% walk rate. A former 11th-round pick in the 2022 draft, Clifford has rapidly climbed the Mets' farm system. With continued production, the first baseman/outfielder could be on the fast track to Triple-A later this summer.--Shaun AlbinSource: Minor League Baseball

New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo made big plays as both a rusher and receiver during team drills on Friday, according to Matt Citak of Giants.com. A fourth-round pick out of Arizona State, Skattebo gained 2,316 yards from scrimmage and scored 24 touchdowns in 13 games last season for the Sun Devils. He's competing with second-year back Tyrone Tracy Jr. and veteran Devin Singletary for touches in the Giants' backfield. Skattebo proved himself to be a workhorse who could handle both rushing and receiving duties at the college level. With a solid showing in training camp and preseason games, he could vault himself into a significant role right away in 2025. RotoBaller currently ranks him as RB35, four spots behind Tracy Jr. in full-PPR.--Will BradySource: Giants.com - Matt Citak

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Tai Peete was named the Northwest League's Player of the Week after a dominant stretch that included three home runs, one double, seven RBI, and five runs scored. The Mariners' No. 10 prospect and 2023 first-round pick has shown off his elite athleticism with 16 home runs and 19 stolen bases this season. However, his overall slash line of .225/.283/.415 at High-A reflects the growing pains. A 30.6% strikeout rate and 7.6% walk rate have stalled his path to Double-A. Peete remains a high-ceiling talent, but improved plate discipline will be crucial to his development.--Shaun AlbinSource: Minor League Baseball

The Detroit Tigers are one of the strong suitors for Arizona Diamondbacks All-Star third baseman Eugenio Suarez with the July 31 trade deadline coming this week, would love to finalize a deal before Suarez and the D-backs finish a series in Detroit this Wednesday, according to USA TODAY Sports' Bob Nightengale. Arizona is in Motown for a three-game series this week. Suarez is one of the most attractive and available bats at this year's deadline and is basically a lock to get moved at this point with the Snakes selling. Detroit has been using a combination of Zach McKinstry, Matt Vierling and Colt Keith at the hot corner lately, so Suarez would be a massive upgrade over that committee. The 34-year-old Venezuelan slugger currently leads baseball with 87 RBI and is tied for fourth with his 36 home runs. A move to Detroit might actually be a slight downgrade fantasy-wise for Suarez.--Keith HernandezSource: USA TODAY Sports - Bob Nightengale

The Pittsburgh Steelers have released running back Cordarrelle Patterson, according to a tweet from Patterson himself on Monday morning. The 34-year-old appeared to be fifth on the team's depth chart at running back behind Jaylen Warren, Kaleb Johnson, Kenneth Gainwell, and Trey Sermon, so this news does not come as a huge surprise. Patterson appeared in 13 games for Pittsburgh in 2024, rushing for 135 yards on 32 carries and catching 12 passes for 80 yards. He also served as a kick returner, which is where Patterson has arguably made the biggest impact throughout his career. It remains to be seen whether the 12-year vet will look to catch on with another team as a gadget piece on offense and contributor on special teams, or hang up his cleats. Either way, his days as a fantasy-relevant player are in the past.--Will BradySource: Cordarrelle Patterson

The Atlanta Braves acquired right-hander Carlos Carrasco from the New York Yankees on Monday in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations, according to Jack Curry of the YES Network. It's the second straight day that the Braves have acquired a right-handed starting pitcher to help their injury-plagued rotation, as they acquired Erick Fedde from the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. The 38-year-old Carrasco will hopefully eat innings for the Braves down the stretch, but his move to a secure starting role should only attract interest from fantasy managers in NL-only leagues. His first start for Atlanta could come this Thursday versus the Cincinnati Reds. The Venezuelan native was recently pitching at Triple-A for the Yanks and had a rough 5.91 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 25:10 K:BB in eight outings (six starts) in pinstripes this year.--Keith HernandezSource: YES Network - Jack Curry

Los Angeles Dodgers No. 23 prospect Jaron Elkins was named Single-A Player of the Week after recording 10 hits, five doubles, and a home run for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. The 20-year-old outfielder is slashing .269/.344/.436 with 51 stolen bases this season. He's trimmed his strikeout rate from 35.1% in rookie ball to 30.4% at Single-A, showing some growth, but his 8.3% walk rate remains an area for improvement. Elkins' game-changing speed and developing pop make him an intriguing fantasy stash. If he can further refine his plate discipline, he has the tools to become a dynamic big-league contributor.--Shaun AlbinSource: Minor League Baseball

Cleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase has been placed on non-disciplinary paid leave through Aug. 31 as part of MLB's gambling investigation, according to Zack Meisel of MLB.com. Clase's teammate, right-hander Luis L. Ortiz, is already under the same parameters and hasn't pitched since June 27. This is big news for the fantasy community, as the 27-year-old is one of baseball's top closers despite taking step back statistically in 2025. The Dominican right-hander is 5-3 with a 3.23 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 47 strikeouts in 47 1/3 innings while converting saves in 24 of his 29 chances. Clase was a potential trade chip before this week's July 31 deadline, but that's unlikely to happen now that he's out through August. Manager Stephen Vogt hasn't said how he plans to treat the closing situation with Clase out at least a month, but fantasy managers should run to add Cade Smith immediately.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com - Zack Meisel

Indianapolis Colts rookie running back DJ Giddens scored a long touchdown against the first-team defense during team drills in practice on Monday, according to Angela Moryan of WISH-TV News. The Colts drafted Giddens out of Kansas St. in the fifth round of this year's draft. He put up big numbers in 2024 for the Wildcats, rushing for 1,343 yards and seven touchdowns while adding 258 yards and a score as a receiver. Indianapolis has superstar Jonathan Taylor entrenched as their RB1, but there could be an opportunity for Giddens to win the primary backup job away from veterans Khalil Herbert and Tyler Goodson. If Giddens does make an impact this year as a rookie, it will likely be as a receiver out of the backfield. That's an area where Taylor does not see heavy usage, so Giddens' quickest path to playing time may be in a third-down role.--Will BradySource: WISH-TV News - Angela Moryan

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back Bhayshul Tuten (hamstring) remains out of training camp practice on Monday and is day-to-day with a hamstring injury, according to head coach Liam Coen. It doesn't sound like a serious injury for Tuten, but any time missed for a rookie in camp is notable. The 23-year-old fourth-round selection will most likely serve in the No. 3 role in his first NFL season behind Tank Bigsby and Travis Etienne Jr., which means he'll be left to the waiver wire in standard-size formats to begin the season. The 5-foot-9, 206-pounder has blazing speed, though, so he's a big play waiting to happen when he's on the field. However, unless Bigsby or Etienne are sidelined by injury or the Jags trade Etienne, it's hard to envision Tuten being on the field for more than a handful of snaps initially in 2025.--Keith HernandezSource: ESPN.com - Michael DiRocco

The Miami Dolphins are hosting free-agent tight end Noah Fant on a visit on Monday, sources told FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Fant is making the rounds after being released by the Seattle Seahawks at the start of training camp, as he's already visited with the Cincinnati Bengals and New Orleans Saints. He continues to draw significant interest on the open market and should join a new team soon. The Dolphins recently traded Jonnu Smith to the Pittsburgh Steelers and signed Darren Waller after he came out of retirement, but they would certainly like to have more depth behind Waller for the 2025 season. Wherever Fant winds up, he's not going to be immediately plugged in as the no-doubt, top pass-catching option at the position, so he will go undrafted in the vast majority of fantasy leagues. The 27-year-old former first-rounder didn't crack 500 yards in any of his three seasons in Seattle.--Keith HernandezSource: FOX Sports - Jordan Schultz

Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III (hamstring) is on the field for training camp practice on Monday after he missed the first four practices with a lingering hamstring injury, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. Burden tweaked his hamstring during minicamp in June, and although the injury wasn't very serious, the Bears played it safe with the second-round wideout and held him out last week at the start of training camp. Chicago will ease the 21-year-old in with the backups at first, but eventually he'll be competing with Olamide Zaccheaus for WR3 duties in 2025 behind DJ Moore and Rome Odunze. The 6-foot, 206-pounder has been compared to Moore and could eventually had a key role in Chicago's passing attack under new head coach Ben Johnson, but for 2025, Burden will be more of a dynasty/keeper asset.--Keith HernandezSource: Chicago Tribune - Brad Biggs

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said that tight end Cade Otton (hamstring) is missing a second straight day of training camp practice on Monday with a mild hamstring issue. The Bucs are just being cautious holding him out early in camp. The 26-year-old might miss some more practice time this week, but this isn't an injury that should keep him from being ready for the Week 1 regular-season opener in early September unless he has a setback. Otton heads into the 2025 campaign as Tampa's clear-cut top pass-catching TE after setting career-highs in catches (59) and receiving yards (600) last year while finding the end zone four times for the second straight season in 14 starts. It definitely helped that receiver Chris Godwin (ankle) missed a big chunk of the year due to injury. He's almost always on the field, but the targets just won't be enough to bump him up into the TE1 picture.--Keith HernandezSource: Buccaneers.com - Scott Smith

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Zach Eflin is a prime candidate to get moved at the trade deadline, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The 31-year-old Eflin will be a free agent at season's end and does not figure to be in the team's long-term plans, with right-handers Kyle Bradish (elbow) and Tyler Wells (elbow) both expected to be back in the rotation in 2026. Eflin has had a down year in 2025, logging a 5.78 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with 47 strikeouts in 67 innings (13 starts). However, the veteran was much better in 165 1/3 innings (28 starts) split between the Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays in 2024, going 10-9 with a 3.59 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 134 strikeouts. Eflin has also been limited by injuries this season, so it's possible that an extended stretch of improved health could lead to him regaining his prior form down the stretch.--Will BradySource: The Athletic - Ken Rosenthal

Baltimore Orioles outfielder Ramon Laureano has had a resurgent 2025 season and is a "more attractive" trade target for rival teams than teammate Cedric Mullins, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. In 275 plate appearances, Laureano is hitting .275/.338/.514 with 14 home runs, 43 RBI, 39 runs scored, and four stolen bases. He's earned every day playing time in recent weeks, split between both left and right field. Baltimore holds a reasonable $6.5 million club option on the 31-year-old Laureano for 2026, so they could feasibly keep him through the deadline. If he does get dealt, Laureano would be at greater risk of falling into a corner outfield platoon. He's been better against right-handed pitching so far this season, but for his career, Laureano has been better against left-handers (.794 OPS) than righties (.745 OPS).--Will BradySource: The Athletic - Ken Rosenthal

The Seattle Mariners "will be as aggressive in the bullpen area in the market as anybody," according to the team's president of baseball operations, Jerry Dipoto. Entering play on Monday with a 56-50 record, Seattle is four games back of the Houston Astros for the American League West lead and tied with the Texas Rangers for the final AL wild-card spot. Mariners closer Andres Munoz has been one of MLB's best this season with a 1.35 ERA and 23 saves in 40 innings, so Seattle does not need a ninth-inning specialist. However, the depth behind Munoz is not as strong as it has been in recent seasons, and it sounds like Dipoto is planning to add at least one, if not multiple, high-leverage options to the 'pen in the next few days.--Will BradySource: MLB Network Radio

The Texas Rangers are more likely to add than subtract at the deadline and are looking for both high-leverage relief pitching and a right-handed bat, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Texas has won six straight and nine of its last ten and now sits just four games back of the Houston Astros for the division lead in the American League West. The back end of the Rangers' bullpen has been a question mark all year. The team's leader in saves is Luke Jackson, who pitched to a 4.11 ERA before being designated for assignment on Wednesday. On the hitting side, Rosenthal notes that Texas ranks last in the American League in OPS against left-handed pitching. Particularly with Jake Burger (quad) on the injured list, the Rangers could use a right-handed platoon partner for Joc Pederson at designated hitter.--Will BradySource: The Athletic - Ken Rosenthal

New York Mets infielder Ronny Mauricio recorded a monster game on Sunday night in his team's 5-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants. The 24-year-old top prospect went 4-4 with a home run, double, and two RBI. Mauricio has been earning more regular playing time of late at third base, which could be indicative of the Mets' post-deadline plans at the position. His .761 OPS is better than the Mets' other options at third base in Mark Vientos (.640) and Brett Baty (.710), and both of those players have been floated as potential trade chips as the Mets look to upgrade their pitching staff. Mauricio grades out as a positive defender with multi-positional versatility, and he's recorded five home runs and three stolen bases in 122 plate appearances this season.--Will BradySource: MLB.com

Houston Astros right-hander J.P. France (shoulder) made a rehab appearance on Sunday with Double-A Corpus Christi, throwing two innings and allowing five hits and three earned runs while walking one and striking out three. France has yet to pitch in the big leagues this season as he works his way back from shoulder surgery. Sunday's start was just his second rehab appearance, so he will likely require at least a couple more outings before he gets activated from the 60-day injured list. The 30-year-old France had a solid season for Houston back in 2023, throwing 136 1/3 innings (23 starts) with a 3.83 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 101 strikeouts. The Astros are searching for reliable starting pitching at the back end of their rotation, so there's an opportunity for France to make an impact once he's fully healthy and ready to go.--Will BradySource: The Ice Box Insider - Michael Schwab

The Los Angeles Dodgers said they'll "manage" Hyeseong Kim's shoulder injury, and expect him back in the lineup Monday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Kim has been dealing with this shoulder injury for about a week, but was lifted for a pinch hitter on Saturday and sat on Sunday. It appears that this injury is something Kim and the Dodgers plan to continue viewing as day-to-day, and he will continue to play through it. On the season, Kim is slashing .311/.345/.415 with two home runs, 15 RBI, 12 stolen bases, and 17 runs scored. Although he is hitting for a solid average after 135 MLB at-bats, his inconsistent playing time makes it difficult to start him in most formats. In addition, most of his advanced metrics display signs of regression, as evident by his .250 xBA and .278 xwOBA. He remains a dynasty stash at this point, unless injuries to the Dodger lineup force him to play more consistently in 2025.--Nicho RoesslerSource: Fabian Ardaya

New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields, who dislocated his toe last week, is practicing on Monday in 11-on-11 drills, Adam Schefter reports. This is an encouraging sign for the Jets and Fields, as he was carted off the field last Thursday with a toe injury. All signs since last Friday have suggested that he has been making progress from the injury over the past few days, and there's a good chance we see Fields suit up for preseason action if this trend continues. Currently, Fields ranks as QB15, according to NFBC, which aligns with RotoBallers' ranking of QB13. The key to monitoring Fields is ensuring that he is moving around well and actively involved in the run game, as this is what elevates his fantasy floor and ceiling. If the toe injury slows him down on the ground, this limits his potential upside and knocks him out of the conversation as a QB1 in fantasy football.--Nicho RoesslerSource: Adam Schefter

Indianapolis Colts rookie tight-end Warren has looked the part of a professional, and projections for his rookie season seem to keep increasing with every strong practice he stacks, Destin Adams, beat writer for the Colts, reports. While this is encouraging news to hear for Warren's outlook as a pro, it's still relatively early to say he has it figured out. That being said, during the 2024 season, the Penn State tight end had a standout year, recording 104 receptions for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns, which earned him a first-round pick (14th overall) in the 2024 NFL draft. While he remains a strong play in dynasty formats, the uncertainty at the quarterback position limits his potential upside in redraft leagues. His current options are Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones. Warren currently ranks as the TE11, according to NFBC, which corresponds with his TE12 ranking at RotoBaller.--Nicho RoesslerSource: Destin Adams
