ESPN's Adam Schefter reports a ban of the tush-push play that the Philadelphia Eagles revolutionized didn't receive enough votes at Wednesday's league meetings in Minneapolis, so the play will continue to be allowed in 2025. Retired Eagles center Jason Kelce and Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie spoke to NFL owners on the merits of keeping the play before the vote. The final vote was 22-10 on the proposal, which was originally submitted by the Green Bay Packers. The proposal needed 24 votes to pass. Among the teams that were in favor of banning the play were the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, New York Jets and Detroit Lions. In the proposal's updated language, "offensive players cannot assist the runner except by individually blocking opponents for him." The tush-push play appeared in only 0.28% of total plays in 2024, according to ESPN Research.

The Miami Dolphins have reached out to free-agent cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. (neck), according to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald. Although the Dolphins have not made him an offer or even hosted him for a visit, Jackson reports the team continues to keep tabs on the cornerback, and a deal could come to fruition in July. Any sort of negotiations are unlikely to commence until the Dolphins reach a resolution with Jalen Ramsey, whom they want to trade. If Ramsey is dealt, then the Dolphins would have an open roster spot — plus additional salary cap space — to use on Samuel. Of course, signing Samuel would be contingent on him passing a physical, as he's recovering from offseason neck surgery. He appeared in just four games for the Chargers last season, breaking up two passes and making 13 tackles.

A vote to allow NFL players to take part in flag football for the first time during the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles is expected to pass at Tuesday's league meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter. "Olympics should be easy," one source said about Tuesday's vote. The resolution needs to be approved by at least 24 of the 32 team owners, and the NFL will then need to negotiate with the NFL Players Association, Olympic officials and nationals governing bodies on specifics of letting NFL players participate. Miami Dolphins wide receiver
Tyreek Hill has already said he'd be interested in joining the U.S. flag football squad, and many other players are likely to join him before the 2028 Summer Olympics. Hopefully for fantasy football purposes, there won't be too many injuries that arise from NFL players taking part in the Olympics in 2028.

The Philadelphia Eagles and head coach Nick Sirianni agreed to an undisclosed long-term contract extension on Monday, according to The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov. It doesn't come as much of a surprise after Sirianni just helped lead the team to their second Super Bowl championship last season in a blowout win over the Kansas City Chiefs, who were looking to become the first team ever to win three straight championships. Sirianni was hired before the start of the 2021 season. Since then, the Eagles have made the playoffs four straight years with two Super Bowl appearances and won Lombardi Trophy. "Nick has embodied everything we were looking for in a head coach since we hired him four years ago. His authentic style of leadership, football intelligence, passion for the game, and growth mindset have helped to bring out the best in our team. I am excited for what the future holds for the Philadelphia Eagles," chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie said.

Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton (knee) is expected to be ready for training camp, according to Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post. Singleton underwent surgery on his ACL last October, but he's on track in his recovery. "I can't give specific numbers, but we have practices in a few weeks, and you guys can see for yourselves where I'm at," Singleton said. "I'm getting my helmet fitted next week. Then, the first OTAs. All these happy moments. And then training camp. I think it'll be really cool to get to do those things and get to do that." Singleton only played in three games last season, but he still amassed 31 tackles, one quarterback hit, and one interception.

The Philadelphia Eagles have hired Joe Douglas to a senior scouting position, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Enquirer. Douglas was the Eagles' Vice President of Player Personnel from 2016 to 2019 before being hired as the New York Jets' general manager. He spent nearly six seasons with the Jets but was fired last November. Douglas' tenure in New York had mixed reviews; he earned plenty of criticism for the Jets repeatedly finishing below .500, but there has also been some speculation that ownership influenced the roster construction and Douglas didn't have full control over the team. Regardless, Douglas now heads back to Philadelphia, where he was highly regarded during his first stint with the Eagles. McLane writes that Douglas was Eagles general manager Howie Roseman's "right-hand man" when building the 2017 Super Bowl-winning roster, and now he'll head back to Philly as the Eagles look to defend their latest Super Bowl title.

The Minnesota Vikings will host the NFC North division-rival Detroit Lions on Christmas Day on Dec. 25 in Week 17 in 2025 in a game that will be on Netflix, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. The Lions went 15-2 in the regular season last year to win the division, but they were upset in the Divisional Round by the upstart Washington Commanders. Detroit beat the Vikings twice in 2024 -- 31-29 in Week 7 in Minnesota and 31-9 in Detroit in the Week 18 regular-season finale that decided the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The Vikings, who are expected to be rolling with former first-round quarterback
J.J. McCarthy as their starting signal-caller this year, will be looking for revenge against their division rivals on Christmas Day. In Detroit's two wins last year, Goff combined for 511 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

The Super Bowl 59 rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will come in Week 2 in Kansas City on Sept. 14, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. The Chiefs were pursuing an NFL-record third straight Super Bowl championship back in February, but the Eagles spoiled their party and went up 34-0 before eventually winning 40-22 for their second Super Bowl title. As expected, both teams have several marquee primetime matchups in 2025, with the Eagles also facing the division-rival Dallas Cowboys in the season-opener on Sept. 4 and with a Black Friday matchup against the Chicago Bears on Nov. 28. The Chiefs will face the Cowboys in Dallas on Thanksgiving and will host the division-rival Denver Broncos on Christmas night.

The National Football League announced on Wednesday that the Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys for a Thanksgiving Day showdown on Nov. 27. The following month, the Chiefs will host the division-rival Denver Broncos on Christmas night. Kansas City and Dallas last played each other in November of 2021, with the Chiefs winning 19-9 after the KC defense shut down a Cowboys offense that ranked first in the league entering the game. This will be the first time that the Chiefs have played on Thanksgiving Day since 2006. They will be looking to bounce back in 2025 after being dominated by the Philadelphia in the Super Bowl in February as they looked for their third straight Super Bowl title. Meanwhile, Dallas is trying to make the playoffs again after a disappointing 2024 campaign that included quarterback
Dak Prescott suffering a season-ending hamstring injury.

Quarterback
Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers will open the 2025 regular season at home at Lambeau Field against NFC North rival
Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Sept. 7, sources told FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Believe it or not, this will be the first time in head coach Matt LaFleur's tenure that the Packers have had a home game in Week 1. They haven't opened the season at Lambeau since 2018. The two division rivals will square off for a second time in 2025 at Ford Field on Thanksgiving Day. The Lions are the two-time defending NFC North champions and went 15-2 last year before suffering a shocking upset loss to the Washington Commanders in the Divisional Round. From 1992-2014, the Packers won 24 straight home games against Detroit, including a playoff victory. However, the Lions have won the last three games in Green Bay.

The New York Jets are releasing veteran punter Thomas Morstead, according to Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team. The 39-year-old former Pro Bowler spent the last two seasons with New York as part of his 16-year NFL career. Overall, the SMU product and 2005 fifth-round pick has played in 255 career games, booting 960 punts. He has averaged 46.8 yards per punt with 352 kicks pinned inside the 20-yard line to just 67 touchbacks. Although he is likely in the last stages of his career, he is still a starting-caliber punter and should find a new home quickly, assuming he wants to continue playing.

The Washington Commanders announced on Tuesday that they will square off against the Miami Dolphins in the league's first-even game in Spain in Madrid in Week 11 on Nov. 16 at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. It will be the final game of the 2025 international NFL slate, and it could be a high-scoring affair between two teams with above-average offenses. Quarterback
Jayden Daniels played well above expectations in his rookie campaign in 2024 and surprisingly led the team to an NFC Championship appearance in his first season. The Dolphins disappointed and did not make the postseason in 2024, but if quarterback
Tua Tagovailoa can stay healthy, Miami still has one of the best one-two punches at wide receiver in
Tyreek Hill and
Jaylen Waddle. Needless to say, fantasy managers will probably have a a lot of skin in this game in Spain.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Minnesota Vikings will become the first NFL team to play in back-to-back international games in 2025 in different countries, facing the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first-ever regular-season NFL game in Dublin, Ireland, on Sept. 28. The Vikings will then travel to London, England, to face the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Oct. 5. Minnesota will be the road team for both international games. In four previous regular-season games in London, the Vikings have won all four, including last year's win over the New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The international games for Minnesota will keep them from playing at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, where they've never won, and in Cleveland, where they have one win since 1989.

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson was seen arriving at the team facility prior to Tuesday's voluntary workout. However, he was not in uniform, and there was no indication that he would take the field for practice. Instead, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Hendrickson is in Cincinnati so that he can speak with the media about his ongoing contract saga. Earlier this week, Hendrickson released a statement claiming that the Bengals have not shown interest in engaging in extension talks since last month's NFL Draft. This development prompted fans and media to criticize the Bengals, who are certainly better when Hendrickson is on the field. One of the best defensive players in the NFL, Hendrickson registered 17.5 sacks last season, made the Pro Bowl, and finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

The Denver Broncos will travel to Kansas City to face the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day in 2025 on Prime Video in Week 17. The game could come with plenty of playoff implications late in the season. The Chiefs have dominated the AFC West in the last decade, winning nine straight division titles from 2016 to 2026, but the Broncos are looking to change that this year with head coach Sean Payton and second-year quarterback
Bo Nix, who led the team to the postseason in 2024 for the first time since 2015. The Chiefs narrowly beat the Broncos in Kansas City a year ago on a blocked field goal before the Broncos beat KC in a blowout in the Week 18 regular-season finale when the Chiefs rested all of their starters before the playoffs.
