No Surgery Needed For Pat Freiermuth
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth (knee) suffered a left knee sprain in the Week 18 win over the Cleveland Browns, but he won't require surgery. Freiermuth was quickly ruled out, but he should be fine for next season after the Steelers were eliminated from postseason contention when the Miami Dolphins beat the New York Jets. There's a chance that the 24-year-old won't be ready for offseason workouts in the spring, but as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks, he should be good to go for training camp in the summer. In his second NFL season, Freiermuth had 63 receptions on 98 targets for 732 yards and two touchdowns. He bested his rookie marks in catches and receiving yards, but his TD production was a disappointment after he found the end zone seven times in his rookie season.
