Mike Pelfrey Announces Retirement
Mike Pelfrey announced his retirement on Wednesday. The former first-round pick of the Mets, Pelfrey spent 2017 with the White Sox and was 3-12 with a 5.93 ERA. Pelfrey spent the first seven years of his big league career with the Mets, followed by three seasons with the Twins, before finishing up with the Tigers and White Sox. The 34-year-old will enter the coaching ranks at Newman University, located in Wichita, Kansas.
