Miguel Sano Accused In Kidnapping Case
4 years agoMinnesota Twins third baseman/first baseman Miguel Sano told a Dominican Republic newspaper that he's being blackmailed, having been accused of kidnapping and assault. “We will continue to monitor the situation and hope to have more as it becomes available,” Twins spokesman Dustin Morse said. Odalis Ramos, a lawyer, has accused Sano and three of his friends of kidnapping, beating and threatening to hang his client, Raudy Omar Sanchez de la Cruz. Sano is denying the accusations and said that Sanchez de la Cruz was involved in a sexual assault of a young relative of Sano's. No charges have been filed in relation to the accusations. The Twins slugger hit a career-high 34 home runs in just 105 games in 2019 and also had a career-best .923 OPS after slumping in 2018. The 27-year-old is a fine target for power at corner infield with eligibility at first and third.
