Gabriel Arias Not in Lineup on Saturday
Gabriel Arias (wrist) is out of the lineup Saturday against Seattle Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert. Brayan Rocchio will take over at short and bat ninth. Arias left the Guardians' 5-4 win over the Mariners on Friday after starter George Kirby hit him in the right wrist with a 94.7 mph sinker in the second inning. While X-rays came back negative, Arias will still need at least one day off to recuperate. The 25-year-old has been a plus defender at short this season, but he hasn't contributed much offense since he debuted in 2022. Arias has taken 386 trips to the plate in 2025 and hit .222/.281/.362 with nine homers, 45 RBI, 36 runs scored, and six stolen bases.
