Dane Myers Exits Early on Saturday
Dane Myers (side) left early against the New York Mets on Saturday with discomfort in his right side, Stephen Strom of Fox Sports 940 reports. After Myers struck out in his lone at-bat in the top of the first inning, the Marlins replaced him with Jakob Marsee in the bottom half of the frame. This isn't the first time Myers has dealt with an issue in his right side this year, as he landed on the 10-day injured list with an oblique strain in early May. It took Myers about three weeks to return from that injury. The 29-year-old fared well at the beginning of the season, but he has been mired in a brutal slump over the past two months. Since July 1, Myers has gone 18-for-124 (.145) with two home runs, seven RBI, and 35:10 K:BB in 42 games.
