Giancarlo Stanton Resting on Saturday
Giancarlo Stanton will take a seat on Saturday against Chicago White Sox right-hander Shane Smith. The Yankees will go with Cody Bellinger (right field) and Jasson Dominguez (left) as their corner outfielders, while Aaron Judge will DH. Stanton is sitting after starting back-to-back games in right field. The Yankees will have to continue choosing when to play the 35-year-old and when to rest him until Judge can reclaim his spot in the outfield. Judge has been a full-time DH since he suffered a flexor strain in his right elbow in late July, and while he has made progress, there's still no timetable for him to return to right in a game. Unless Judge regains full health this year, the Yankees will occasionally have to bench Stanton, who has been on a tear in 2025. The former NL MVP has slashed .300/.374/.635 with 17 homers, 46 RBI, and 28 runs scored in 191 plate appearances.
