Michael Lorenzen to Return to the Rotation on Saturday
Michael Lorenzen (oblique) will come off the injured list and slot back into the starting rotation on Saturday against the division-rival Chicago White Sox, according to Anne Rogers of MLB.com. Rookie right-hander Ryan Bergert is scheduled to start the series finale on Sunday, while lefty Bailey Falter will head to the bullpen, according to manager Matt Quatraro. The 33-year-old Lorenzen just doesn't have much fantasy upside, but he did throw 85 pitches in his final minor-league rehab start and is getting one of the best matchups in baseball for his first start back. He's been out since mid-July with a strained left oblique and had a middling 4.61 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in his first 99 2/3 innings before getting hurt. In his lone start against the White Sox this year, Lorenzen picked up a win by allowing two earned runs with two walks and seven K's in six innings pitched.
