Matt Manning Expects To Start Throwing Next Week
2 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matt Manning (toe) told reporters on Sunday that he expects to start throwing next week. He also said that he hopes to be back on the mound within six weeks. The 25-year-old was wearing a protective boot and was riding around on a scooter to protect his fractured right pinkie toe that he suffered back on April 11. The good news is that the fracture does not require surgery and if all goes well, Manning should be back with the club sometime in June. He posted a 4.63 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 7:3 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 innings (two starts) before getting injured. He is worth stashing in most fantasy leagues.
