Matt Chapman Wins Fourth Gold Glove
1 year agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Matt Chapman won his fourth career Gold Glove award in 2023, becoming the second third baseman in Blue Jays history to win the honor (Kelly Gruber in 1990). Chapman led all AL third baseman with 12 defensive runs saved, upping his career total to 92. Also winning Gold Gloves in the American League this year were Texas Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe, Cleveland Guardians second baseman Andres Gimenez, New York Yankees rookie shortstop Anthony Volpe, Rangers catcher Jonah Heim, Blue Jays starting pitcher Jose Berrios, Guardians left fielder Steven Kwan, Blue Jays center fielder Kevin Kiermaier, Rangers right fielder Adolis Garcia and Houston Astros utility man Mauricio Dubon.
