Luke Voit Activated From Injured List
4 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit (knee) was activated from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and is set to make his season debut against the Tampa Bay Rays after he had surgery on March 29 to fix a torn meniscus in his left knee. The 30-year-old hit .389 (7-for-18) with two doubles and three home runs during a five-game rehab assignment from May 4-9 with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Voit hit .277 with a major league-leading 22 home runs and 52 RBI in 213 at-bats last season. New York first basemen -- Jay Bruce, DJ LeMahieu and Mike Ford -- hit .153 (19-for-124) in Voit's absence with three homers, 10 RBI, 36 strikeouts and 17 walks. LeMahieu figures to see most of his time at the keystone with Voit back in the fold. There could be a little rust for Voit to shake off, so don't expect him pick up where he left off in 2020 immediately.
