Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Scratched With Shoulder Discomfort
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (shoulder) was scratched from Wednesday's starting lineup against the Chicago White Sox with left-shoulder discomfort, according to the team. With Gurriel heading to the bench, Jake McCarthy entered Arizona's lineup in right field and hit seventh against White Sox right-hander Luis Patino. For now, the 29-year-old Gurriel should be considered day-to-day. Check back to see if he's available to play in Thursday's series finale against the White Sox as the D-backs fight for one of the last two wild-card spot in the National League in the final week of the regular season. Gurriel has been a lineup regular for Arizona this year and has contributed a career-high 24 home runs and 81 RBI while hitting .262 (140-for-535) in 141 games.
