Kolten Wong Expected Back Next Week
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers second baseman Kolten Wong (oblique) is expected to return from the 10-day injured list sometime during next week's road trip to the San Diego Padres and Chicago Cubs, according to manager Craig Counsell. Wong already aggravated his oblique issue once, and this type of injury is notorious for lingering with players. Hopefully, the 30-year-old is fully healed once he returns next week. Known more for his glove work at the keystone, Wong is off to a slow start this season with two hits in 19 at-bats over seven games. He does have a stolen base already, though, and has also walked five times. Wong isn't the best fantasy contributor with the bat, but he can provide some steals and a quality on-base percentage as middle infield depth in deep mixed and NL-only leagues. Daniel Robertson, Jace Peterson and Keston Hiura have all made starts at second base recently with Wong sidelined.
