Alek Manoah Pitches Well in Latest Rehab Start
Alek Manoah (elbow) made his third rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday as he works back from June 2024 elbow surgery. Manoah gave up three runs (all unearned) over 5 1/3 innings of six-hit ball and posted five strikeouts against two walks on 85 pitches (50 strikes). Although the 27-year-old has been rehabbing as a starter, the Blue Jays already have six capable rotation options in Kevin Gausman, Max Scherzer, Chris Bassitt, Jose Berrios, Shane Bieber, and Eric Lauer. Barring injuries, Manoah seems likely to pitch in relief if he does make it back to the majors this season. The former All-Star has made all 75 of his career appearances as a starter and recorded a 3.34 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP, 8.83 K/9, and 3.39 BB/9 in 420 innings.
