Nathaniel Lowe Going on Paternity List

The Boston Red Sox will place first baseman Nathaniel Lowe (personal) on the paternity list on Thursday, according to Christopher Smith of MassLive.com. Outfielder Rob Refsnyder (oblique) will come off the 10-day injured list to take his roster spot. Lowe will miss up to three games, which should lead to more playing time at first base for Romy Gonzalez. After the Washington Nationals released Lowe on Aug. 16, he signed with the Red Sox and has been a regular in their lineup. Since debuting with Boston on Aug. 18, the 30-year-old has appeared in nine games and gone 8-for-27 with one homer, seven RBI, five runs scored, and 4:4 K:BB. Between the two teams, Lowe has combined to hit .221/.297/.379 with 17 HRs, 75 RBI, and 51 runs in 522 plate appearances.
