Jose Berrios In Midseason Form
4 years agoMinnesota Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said that starting pitcher Jose Berrios hit 95-96 mph in his first inning of live batting practice on Friday. Berrios threw around 45 pitches overall. "He couldn't look any better. He looks like a bulldog," Baldelli said. The 26-year-old had a career-low 3.68 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 8.8 K/9 in 32 starts for his second straight All-Star selection in 2019. He's certainly Minnesota's ace, but the Puerto Rican native can be inconsistent on a start-to-start basis, but the upside is undeniable in a pitcher's park. Berrios may be a bit overrated after his breakout season in 2019, but he's at least a solid second fantasy starter heading into the 2020 campaign.
