Daulton Varsho Exits After Hit by Pitch, X-Rays Negative
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho (hand) left a 7-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers after taking a pitch off the right hand in the bottom of the seventh inning. X-rays came back negative after the game, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports. Varsho went 0-for-2 on Friday before the Blue Jays subbed in Myles Straw to pinch run for him and finish the game in center field. The 29-year-old Varsho didn't make his 2025 debut until April 29 after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery, and he has also missed time with a hamstring strain. When healthy, Varsho has delivered a power-packed .226/.280/.567 line with 15 homers, 42 RBI, and 26 runs scored over 47 games and 182 trips to the plate. He has been especially productive in August, having gone deep seven times and driven in 22 runs in 21 games. It's unclear if Varsho will be in the lineup on Saturday, so fantasy managers should keep an eye on his status.
