Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jonathan Ericsson (upper body) will not play in the Red Wings season opener on Thursday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Ericsson suffered the injury during a preseason contest, and his timetable for return is currently unknown. While this leaves a hole on the Red Wings blueline, it should not leave a hole on fantasy teams. Ericsson has never scored more than 15 points across 11 seasons of NHL action and should be left on the fantasy waiver wire.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
