Jimmy Nelson Activated, Sent To Minors
6 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers activated starting pitcher Jimmy Nelson (elbow) from the 10-day injured list on Friday and then optioned him to Triple-A San Antonio. The 29-year-old had a 4.74 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, 22 strikeouts and nine walks in 19 innings in his four outings (three starts) for San Antonio on his rehab assignment. The Brewers want to see a little more from him on the farm before they re-insert him into their starting rotation. The right-hander didn't pitch at all in 2018 but went 12-6 with a nice 3.49 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and career-high 10.2 K/9 in 29 starts for the Brew Crew in 2017. He should become a streaming option in deep mixed leagues when he's back in the rotation in Milwaukee.
