Jets Won't Stand In Aaron Rodgers' Way If He Wants To Return This Year
1 year agoThe New York Jets will not stand in quarterback Aaron Rodgers' (Achilles) way if he receives medical clearance to play again this year after tearing his Achilles in the season opener. "Aaron's a big boy, a grown man, and no one's going to know Aaron's body like Aaron knows his body," head coach Robert Saleh said. "And if he feels after all the doctors clear him -- I'm sure there's a million of them, I have no idea -- but if Aaron says he wants to play, he's going to play." The future Hall of Famer is targeting a mid-December return, which would be an unprecedented quick return from a torn Achilles. Rodgers turns 40 on Dec. 2, and it still feels overly optimistic that he'll be back if the Jets remain in playoff contention. No NFL player has returned from this type of injury in less than five months.
