NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that the New York Jets agreed to terms with veteran coach Steve Wilks as their new defensive coordinator on Wednesday, according to sources. Wilks did not coach at all in the NFL in 2024 after being fired as the San Francisco 49ers' defensive coordinator following the 2023 campaign. He's a long-time respected assistant defensive coach in the NFL and also the former head coach of the Arizona Cardinals in 2018. With new Jets head coach Aaron Glenn not expected to call defensive plays in his first year at the helm, Wilks' role as the defensive coordinator will be key. The Jets are also expected to add Denver Broncos assistant Chris Banjo as their special teams coordinator and Detroit Lions tight ends coach Steve Heiden as their offensive-line coach. Wilks will be inheriting a Jets defense with plenty of talent, headlined by players like Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
